• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2-up spring weights

A spring is set correctly when the suspension settles by no more than 1/3 of its travel with the rider or riders seated. 1) Have someone lift the rear of the seat, or use a jack, to fully extend the suspension. 2) Measure the vertical distance from the top of the tire to the underside of the...

    Ryker 600 1000 mile update

Fuel consumption is totally dependent on speed and load. What sort of speeds were you maintaining for those consumption readings?

    Rally Use

The rear shock has a compression damping adjustment, the big hand wheel fitted to the right side below the seat. There are two things which could affect the rear shock action: spring preload and compression damping. You will probably need assistance to check this out. 1) Use a jack to raise...

Great to hear! I was hoping to find someone doing what you are doing. Tell us more when you can, and thanks

    Sway Bar

Are you sure? Normally a stiffer sway bay reduces body roll and makes it easier to lift the inside front wheel under spirited riding.

    Ryker Tourer?

I bought a Caterpillar O ring cruise control from a CAT dealer in New York, I think it was, early last year, via eBay. Not showing ast the moment, though

    Off-roading

It's not in the CVT innards. They use a dry, belt drive to vary ratios. On the output of the CVT is a reduction gearbox which drives the shaft to the rear wheel. It's the final, right angle drive, the bevel drive at the rear wheel that is most likely the cause.

    Off-roading

Maybe. I haven't heard the noise but shaft drive motorcycles typically have a clunk when accelerating or decelerating, because of driveline lash, as it is called. This is just a techo way of saying that there is some lost motion or free play or excessive clearance between the bevel gears in...

    My Ryker Has Landed!

That's not my experience at all. I don't have any Can Am CVTs yet but the similar belt drive variator-type CVT on the 75 hp Aprilia Mana 850 v twin and probably just about every scooter today is in the highest ratio on a level surface at about 55 mph with a steady throttle. My MP3 400 was in...

    My Ryker Has Landed!

Thanks for the great write-up, and for the engine speed at 60 mph. I would also love to know what it is at 75 mph. In theory it's probably around 6300, but since it is red lined at about 8,000 that can't be right, because at least one tester claimed to have had it close to 100 mph, which would...

Now Rykers On The Floor At Nash Powersports in Mesa (Phoenix) AZ

Not that I would recommend Nash. I visited them this morning to see how they compare to RideNow who have just about everything tied up in the area. The three different salespeople who approached me were dismissive, the last one especially so when I innocently said I was waiting for a Rallye...

Ryker Test Rides and What RPM at 60mph?

I'm quite familiar with CVTs of the type used by Can Am and the way they work can vary according to load and speed. However, over a certain engine speed they tend to be locked up at a constant speed and a constant load, such as when cruising at 60 or 75 mph on a reasonably level piece of...

Ryker Test Rides and What RPM at 60mph?

In Arizona Ride Now (who have most of the dealerships) say there won't be any test or demo ride days. How come people back East are getting to ride them? The most obvious metric for determining how suitable these are at highway speeds is to know the rpm at 60 or 75 mph. Does anyone know rpm @...

How To Properly and Stylishly Mount Mutazu Bags To An F3S - with pics

Stabilising The MBL Rack If you also have an MBL rack fitted and don't like the way it bounces up and down on the road (or when you put any pressure on it at a standstill), here is a simple way to stabilise it. The Mutazu mounting method I devised does not need the long support arms they...
