• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Schuberth C3 helmet

I can't comment on the C3, but I'm very satisfied with the C2 I've used for the past 3 years. If, as claimed, the C3 is even lighter and quieter, it would be wonderful -- although neither are a problem with mine. Fit and finish are excellent and the visor is very water tight. I got mine...

Any ideas for January ryding in AZ-NM-TX?

Winter is well and truly here (I won't go into the gory details, but I'm 500 miles N of Billings in the Great White North.) Spring is at least 5 months away... :helpsmilie: I'm wondering what my ryding options are for early January in Arizona, New Mexico or west Texas? I figure it's a 3-day...

    GS/RS compared to RT

Today was great weather, so I got over 400 km on the GS/RS SM5 for the first time since getting the RT SE5 4 weeks ago. What a different ride! Much more direct and quick. Sort of like going from a full-sized luxobarge sedan to a sports car -- or I suppose from a Gold Wing to a sport bike, in two...

Absolutely! it's a Bed & Breakfast that we found that's really great. At the end of a fantastic road, in the middle of wine country. I'd go there before the Napa anytime.

And did you notice how little traffic there was? September after Labour Day is the way to go. It's a zoo in the summer.

My wife shot them hand-held from the pillion using a small point & shoot and an iPhone. There's a pouch in the back of my vest where she stores everything.

    Ran outta gas today

This is for my RT SE5 on a 10-day trip of 4,435 km (2,756 mi). Average speeds on the open roads were 100-120 kph (60-75 mph). Shifts usually around 6,000 rpm. Fuel consumption = 338.3 L (89.4 US gal). Average fuel consumption = 7.63 L/100 km (30.8 mi/US gal). So it looks like the range is...

    First trip impressions

Here are my thoughts on the RT A+C after 3 weeks and 5,727 km (3,559 mi). Most of this was a 10-day trip of 4,435 km (2,756 mi). This was from the central prairies (Saskatoon) to the west coast (Vancouver) and back, so a combination of divided highways, 2-lane mountain roads, and some...

Have had my RT for 3 weeks today and have over 5,700 km (3500 mi) -- mostly on a 10-day ride just back from tonight. Great machine! :2thumbs: Enjoy!

    Riding Double

Been riding a few years but my wife had no interest on 2 wheels. I showed her a magazine article on the Spyder when it 1st came out. She showed some interest, so I picked up an '08 in '09 but, other than short rides in town, she still wasn't comfortable with the concept of hanging onto a...
