• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    half cover suggestions

I picked up a baby crib matress cover for under $10 at Wal-mart. It fits over the handle bars and then gets tucked under the Runk lid. It's great for short term. But it looks like a crib cover. I may dye it black so it looks more "respectable"

    Fuel Consumption Averages

Wow, how MUCH higher? At an average of $2.809 a gal. and an average of 25.06 mpg, my cost is 11.2 cents per mile! 89 oct. is just 87 and 93 (or 91) mixed at the pump. Stations don't have 3 different grades, just 2. The third is a mix. Do you really think they put more or different...

    spyderrider site

I believe I have decoded the number. The second and third character are actually the year. The "I" is a 1 and the "O" is a zero (0). That finally worked for me. I had mistakenly assumed the characters were all alphabetical.

    622 trailer badging question

I got a sticker and asked the dealer what it was for, since it didn't seem to fit anywhere on the RT. The dealer didn't know. I went back and told them after I found out here.

    Fuel Consumption Averages

Appx 1 mpg better with the lower octane, but cost was 23 cents lower. That is significant when you look at the cost per mile.

    Can-Am Spyder Ryder Owners Card

Same with us, got the packet, tried to upgrade from enthusiast to owner and the site won't let me. I've emailed them 3 times, no response. I suppose I'll call when I get a chance.

So, it's been a bit hot in Texas this week...

Down near Galveston, we haven't had double digit heat yet, but with the humidity we don't sweat, we condense.

    Passenger Armrests

After the third brake light, my wife wants arm rests..... one way or another. So I guess I'll have to build something myself. It sure is going to look ugly though.

If you are into music, check this site out.

I've got 25 days worth of music in my iTunes, but also listen to Pandora and 1.FM. There is a free app for it called Iterum2 Radio. One problem with these web based listening sites is they ask periodically if you are still there and you have to respond or get shut off.

    Helmet air conditioner needed...

[URL="http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/member.php?u=4812"] No it's not the CoolMedics® Adult Cooling Cap (which looks like a yamaka!). I got the Lawrence of Arabia LD Comfort helmet liner from GoAz. The inside of the material (next to your head) stays dry, but the outside (next to the...

    Helmet air conditioner needed...

I bought the helmet liner but have not had a chance to try it with the Spyder. I did wear it out on the boat drift fishing. 90 deg, 15 mph wind and it got too cool to wear under a hat. I was amazed when I took it off that the inside was dry as a bone, but the outside was still wet. Maybe...

    Help for GPS Mount

I have a cigarette power plug that I attach to the battery (see below). Until I put in a permanent powerlet, that's what I use to charge my cell and run the GPS (an older Nuvi.) It all fits neatly under the seat, cheap and functional.

Updated Info on RT/RS SE5 clutch "fix" campaign

Just got back from my dealer. They got an email yesterday and the recall papers today in the mail so they weren't surprised this time. They told me they'd let me know when the parts are in. Look, I'm holding my breath! :(

    Cruise Control

Well, I guess my cruise will be looked at when I take it in for the clutch recall (which we got in the mail today). The cruise worked well when we first got it, but now it is hard to set and will only increase speed with an upward bump, but the downward bump disengages it. And only works in...

Spyder key needs a web or keychain

I've got the sheath attached to the ring inside my jacket. For those times I lock the jacket in the runk, I just put the key in my pocket. I haven't found it to be a problem.

Went to Decatur for a beer

Georgia has mountains... at least they think they are mountains. My brother lives in Blue Ridge Ga, a few hours north of Atlanta. Not too far from where Deliverance was filmed. I asked him if he had learned to squeal like a pig yet.
