• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    F-3 bumpskid

Compared to cars and trucks, Spyders don’t have much ground clearance, and they can’t dodge roadkill and other debris like a motorcycle. This worried me enough to buy a bumpskid because we’re planning a major trip this summer. I want to avoid a surprise far from home. The $188 part is...

    Backrest for F3

I put on a driver’s backrest from Lamonster last summer. The installation was easy and the parts were high quality. I ended up throwing the actual pad away and replacing it with ever smaller after-market pads. The F-3L has a pretty small cockpit and my wife generally rides with me. The Lamonster...

    Taller windshield, help or hindrance

F-3 Ltd windshield fix option I have a 17 F-3 Ltd equipped with the OEM small, recurved windshield. It did a better job of keeping the wind, noise, and buffeting off me than I expected, but was a far cry from the protection offered on an RT. After talking to a guy with a clamp-on X-Creen at the...

Confused About Rear Car Tires Options

Thanks I’ve noticed a lot of the tire replacement discussion addresses traction issues. I think the tread pattern on the Altimax tire might shed water better than the Kumho because it has more channels, but I was concerned about mudflap clearance. I appreciate reassurance from somebody with...

Confused About Rear Car Tires Options

I have an 2017 F-3 Ltd that’ll need a back tire soon. I like the looks of the Altimax, but I wonder whether it’ll fit. The clearance between the mud flap and the OEM Kendra 225/50-15 is exactly one inch. The 215/60-15 Altimax, being taller, reduces that clearance to just over 3/8”. That’s...

    Car tire comparison needed

It’s still the dead of winter in Wisconsin, but soon enough I’m going to need new rubber on my F-3 Ltd. The reports I’ve been reading seem to like the General Altimax 215/60-15 and the Kumho 225/50-15, but each tire has also had detractors. I’d like to hear from somebody who has tried them BOTH...

    1330 actual Miles per Gallon

Octane I have 8,000 miles on a 2017 F-3 LTD, mostly riding two up. We generally get about 37 mpg, but the interesting thing is that the mileage is just the same using 87 octane as it is using 92. The bike runs just fine on regular, and the gas costs 50 to 75 cents a gallon less. Early on, I ran...

Which is the best Belt Tensioner for an F3 LTD?

I have a 2017 F-3 LTD, now with 8,000 miles on it. It had the high speed vibration that drives new owners nuts, so about 4,000 miles ago I had the BRP tensioner installed. After watching the video of the aftermarket tensioner I now wonder about the BRP part’s durability. It fixed the...

General Altimax tire on f-3 Limited?

Thank you for all this information. With no real help from the manufacturers and active discouragement from some of the dealers, real world experience is really useful. Jambo

General Altimax tire on f-3 Limited?

Thanks Thanks. We ride two-up and loaded a lot, so it might be a good idea to stick with the smaller diameter Kumho tire and worry less about bottoming out. I still have a long winter to ponder this, and it’s really helpful to hear from people with firsthand experience.

General Altimax tire on f-3 Limited?

I checked I have two dealers in my area. One refused to mount a non-OEM tire, but the other said they put non-BRP stuff on machines all the time, no problem. Bring it in. We’re getting 10” of snow today, so it’ll be awhile before any work gets done. I’m going to check again in the spring...

Your Reason For Getting A Backrest?

Driver’s back rest I put a Lamonster driver’s backrest on my F-3 Limited and found two problems. The cockpit was already crowded for two-up riding, so the wide backrest made the situation worse. The Spyder also requires more driver’s body movement than a motorcycle because it doesn’t lean. The...

    Winter Storage..Best for tires?????

winter storage I found a balance point under my F-3 Limited that let me lift the bike with my hydraulic motorcycle jack. That got the wheels completely off the cement floor.

General Altimax tire on f-3 Limited?

Has anybody run the General Altimax 215/60/15 car tire on an F-3 Limited? This tire is about an inch larger in diameter than the OEM, so I'm wondering if it has adequate clearance. I'd also like to know how it handles, how it wears, and if there are any problems getting it mounted on the rim...

Why can't BRP make Turn signal dash repeaters & switches that WORK!?

Rebuttal If if you look... I posted a solution to the problem. There is a picture attached to the first post that shows LEDs wired onto the mirrors. That’s my fix. (And I’m still pissed.)

Why can't BRP make Turn signal dash repeaters & switches that WORK!?

turn signals I think somebody missed the point. My problem isn’t primarily with the bike. I LIKE the bike. What I find infuriating is the indifferent customer service from Can-Am, the casual dismissal of legitimate issues, and the inattention to detail on a very expensive machine. And by the...

Why can't BRP make Turn signal dash repeaters & switches that WORK!?

You’ve probably realized Can-Am turn signal indicators are mostly invisible during daylight hours. Apparently Can-Am couldn’t figure that out, or else they just didn’t give a damn. They couldn’t provide a turn switch with a positive, tactile “off,” either. I bought these LED lights at an...

    F-3 mirror jiggle

The mirrors on my 2017 F-3 Limited were poorly designed and vibrated like crazy at highway speed. (More crap from Can-Am Engineering...don't get me started.) I found a simple, effective solution. I took an inch and a half piece of black hose, cut a couple 1/4" wide, longitudinal slices from...

    2017 F-3 Limited Vibration

You've missed the point. I've been riding motorcycles for fifty years, the last fifteen or so on belt driven Yamahas that cost half as much as an F-3 Limited. The Yamahas ran smoothly at all speeds. I didn't need to work on them when they came off the showroom floor, spend money for...

    2017 F-3 Limited Vibration

I bought a 2017 F-3 Limited this spring and have about 4,500 miles on it. Most of those miles were on slower state highways, so it took awhile to discover the heavy, intermittent vibration. At speeds above 70 mph, it felt like hitting a hundred yards of rumble strip. I took the bike back...
