• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DIY Safety Device to help prevent being rear ended

I worked radar in the USAF and it's not the strength of a single return that matters, it's the cumulative signal return that triggers the AEB. So, I'm wondering if a fixed array system would also work. Here is my idea...Instead of a single large TriHedral, why not a "Sheet" of small ones...

Fog Light switch - can I use any switch or must it be BRP's?

If you are wiring separate, non OEM fogs, you will want to run the output from the switch to a relay fed from the battery. That way you won't run the possibility of messing with the CANBUS system. I run a Carling switch and switch QD socket for my driving lights on my 19 RT Ltd.

Why You May Want to Add a Bump Skid

I wonder what my RT would look like with Bull Bars? Here in N Florida my most frequent near misses are from Armadillos. Been blessed to not hit one yet.

    Cold weather gear discussion

I'm also not one for massively bulky, but at 5'9 and 130 lbs, that used to be the only way I could stay warm since I have no "Natural" insulation. That said, my wife and I love our ORORO heated vests, though they also have many other styles at very reasonable prices. I usually wear mine over a...

    Vanity Plates

I wish I could get the Reg# I had on my 61 Triumph in England during my Air Force days. It was FUK1T, and since British motorcycle tags were laid out in 2 rows of 3 characters, you can guess how it read. :yikes:

    Impossible to get service

If you feel like a road trip to Florida, Orion Motorsports in Tallahassee is one of the good ones. They are short handed for techs at present, but the Service manager will put you on the schedule and WILL call you when they are ready for you to bring your bike in to put it next in the que. For...

    RTL 2020 Mirror Wedgies

The 1/4 - 20 combo drill/tap used in the Lamonster video is made by Kline Tools, and is available at Graybar Electrical Supply and other Kline suppliers. I have the full Electrician's set ganging from 6-32 through 1/4 - 20. Electricians like myself have been using specialty tools like these...

What are these Wires Under the Right Service Panel?

I would check the voltage first to see if they are 5 or 12 volts before hooking anything up so you don't end up damaging anything.

    Anyone Ryde with Spondylolisthesis?

GAWD we sound like a bunch of old farts! That said, let me join the crew. I suffer from the aftermath of L3, L4 compression fractures, Degenerative Disk Disease, Spinal Neuropathy, Arthritis and Shrapnel damage in both knees that finally made me give up my E-Glide. I ride a stock seat on my...

    No riding

Welcome to Florida Brother! It's no better up here in Tally. That's why I like my early morning rides into work...However, the ride home is BRUTAL, even on I-10 at 80. All you can do is grin and bear it.:riding:

    Gave up on BRP connect

I run a Pixel with Google Drive loaded on it and have it on a custom 3D printed holder with a Ram Ball 3" arm screwed to a Lamonster Bar Cuff. I use the BRP radio in town with ok reception, but on the road, I run either Pandora for my music lists or I Heart Radio for stations through the...

    Magic mirrors/pace maker

I know your plight all too well. My wife wears an Omnipod and a CGM. After the mistake of leaning up against the mirror once, and having to change both, she now stays well clear of the mirrors...Maybe that is why she rarely goes a step or two into my lab at the house.:dontknow:

    Magic mirrors/pace maker

Magic Mirrors use Neodymium Magnets, most likely N45 or N52's which have a high Gauss Magnetic field. I run Magics on my 2019 but haven't tested the Gauss strength. The thing with Neos is that when stacked, the Gauss strength multiplies instead of adds, and this is what could cause...

Why is there a gap between nut and cotter pin on rear wheel?

As an old aircraft mechanic, I agree with the "Nut Retention" response. We used the very same technique on jets...Flat back nut with cotter pin or "Safety Wire" to retain the fastener without interfering with application of the correct torque. Think of it like the chain on your wallet. It...

    Will this trailer work?

The "Box" on that one may be 6.2' but the sides at the ramp wing in and don't give the needed width to get the bike into the box...Yes, I found that out the hard way when going nearly 200 miles to pick up my new 2019 RT. It ended up being about 2" to narrow to finagle the bike in because of the...

    cigarette lighter

I'm going to add one on my "19 RT, just haven't gotten around to it yet. What I have is a "Marine" cig lighter, it has a cone shaped water resistant cover beneath the grip that keeps rain out of the heater and socket assemblies. Don't ask where I got it, I've had it for YEARS and just moved it...

    intermittant vibrations @ highway speeds

I like your attitude:firstplace: I'm very well aware of axial loading and it's warning whine. That's why if I can't remedy it with just mild belt tension adjustments, I will add a tensioner, shifting it forwards and back on the swingarm, combining it with tension changes until I find my...
