• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Metal shavings at oil change

I had an oil change on my 2014 RT at 7,500 miles and the service manager (1st week on the job) showed me the drain bolt that is magnetized with a few metal shavings. He admitted it was his first oil change and was a little concerned and was going to report it to BRP. Any comments, is this...

    Towing the CanAm Spyder

After looking at this again, I might be concerned if you have a bump skid it may drag the ground. Does look very interesting, reasonable and a good way to get it to your dealer for service, etc. and still have a ride home if you can't wait.

    Baker Built Cup Holder

Has anyone purchased the Baker Built Cup holder that mounts on the left side of the handlebar and if so any comments. They call it the rigid mount. I want to make sure that it does not interfere with the push to talk button, and no issues turning the handle bar.

Adding heated clothing will battery handle it

2011 RT SE5, has multiple sets of LED lights (8), heated seat, heated grips, etc. Will be purchasing Gerbing heated jacket liner and pants liner and wondering if battery will handle it. Looks like the battery on 2011 models was 12volts/21amps/hour, sealed maintenance free. Looks like the...

    Battery operated heated clothing

I am about to make the plunge for a Venture base layer heated shirt and pants. Looks like you wear these under your normal motorcycle gear. I want battery operated for various reasons and not interested in direct wire. Looking for any comments from those that may use battery operated heated...

Sound system keeps going in and out - any suggestions

Found the problem I never thought it could be the GPS that was installed by dealer when new. I did have an issue with the GPS loosing the 12V power every once in a while and would sometimes loose it long enough to shut down, I believe about 30 seconds. They replaced the harness about a year...

Sound system keeps going in and out - any suggestions

2011 RT - the sound system keeps cutting in and out (popping static noise when it does it), sometimes for a second or up to several seconds. This occurs at least every few minutes. I have had this issue for months and have tried with just headset, no headset, speakers turned off and headset...

    Sound system issue

This has been going on for quite a while and will try to explain what is happening. When moving and only when moving and especially with throttle being moved I get a thunking noise through the sound system that cuts out the radio, cb, and intercom sound. It will thunk every second or so and...

    Audio system problem

Today after a lunch stop my audio system would cut out the music when hitting the throttle and make a on off buzz continuously until letting of the throttle. It did not matter whether it was FM, IPOD, XM OR CB. When letting off the throttle music was back to normal. At cruise going level it...

    Gas cap keeps spinning

Today I stopped for gas, when attempting to remove the gas cap it just kept spinning while making a slight grinding noise. Took several minutes of spinning before it caught and came off. I had this same problem one other time. I tried applying pressure while spinning no help and not sure why it...

    Shifting problem

This morning on my RT with semi automatic shifter I could not get it out of 1st gear. I took it up to about 6,000 rpm and finally got it to go into second, then at 6,000 again into third. As I started to slow down it started downshifting immediately. It usually does not downshift until you...

    Cruise won't work below 50MPH

Today I could not get my cruise to work at any speed much below 50MPH. At around 50 it would work, under 50 no go. The manual says it should work at any speed above 15MPH. Any ideas what may be the problem.

    Another MPG record this week

On my 2014 RT the light went on today at 194 miles. I carry fuel and wanted to see how far I could go. At 230 I stopped for fuel and it took 6.84 gallons. I think our tanks hold more than 6.8 gallons. I am getting 9 miles per gallon more on my 2014 vs my 2011.
