• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    first ride of the season

It's my "fix". I usually ride all winter. Not much, but some. The last 2 winters haven't been all that cold here in southeastern Ohio. When it gets to about 35 and sunny and the roads are dry, you'll see me out charging my battery. Not just my RT-S battery, but mine, the one that drives me...

Found this in my drive belt

Rock in belt. I noticed the same thing in my belt at 9,000 miles. The dealer told me to replace it but I thought I'd just keep watching it to see if it got worse. It didn't and I now have over 100,000 and still going! Chuck

    Worried

Worried? Don't worry. I'm trying to wear my 2014 RT-S SE6 out, but it just keeps going. Now have 106,740 miles. I still have the original drive belt. Glad I bought this machine. I, like many on this forum come from two wheels. I've owned 26 motorcycles, my first, a 1966 Honda 50 Sport and...

    RTS front tires

Front tire reply I ride a lot,as in many miles. My original Kenda front tires lasted 23,000 miles. I took my 2014 RT-S to have the front laser aligned. The dealer was astonished they lasted so long, so after the alignment I replaced with the same Kenda's. The second set lasted 6300, I...

    Info on Spyderfest

I am considering visiting Spyderfest this April. The problem is I don't know how much walking I'll have to do. I'll need a walker or cane. I'll be using my camper and like to know how far it is to the festivities. I'd really like to meet many of the Spyder riders I only know from their profiles...

    BUMP IN DRIVE BELT

Bump in my belt too I had a bump in my belt too. I though it was a stone so I took to it have the dealer check it out. MY 2014 RT-s had 16,000 miles on it at the time. I was told to replace it but decided to see if it got any worse. My RT now has over 100,000 miles on it and it doesn't look...

    Kumho Ecsta AST

Tire reply I have used these tires and in my opinion are no better than junk Kendas.Got 6200 miles on rear. I run a General Altimax 215-60-15.These tires are superior from OEM kendas. Just my opinion. Buckeye Chuck

    hand brake on an RTS

ISCI handbrake Tim, I bought my 2014 RT-S new in June '14. I'm handicapped and my legs don't work very well. The handbrake was a must have option. The dealer installed it, it's quite a job. It took 4 hours labor and cost just under $1500 total. It's connected to the floorboard brake pedal...

The Adventure Begins, Riding with MS!!!!!!! This is going to be long one......

It's the reason I ride a Spyder A very inspiring message.I too ride with a disability, mine is Muscular Dystrophy. It doesn't affect the spine like MS, it just weakens the muscles, and balance. It has taken most of my leg strength, I looks like I'm drunk when I walk. Falling is my biggest fear...

    Update on High Mile RT-S

reply ro high miler. Insights? Not too much to be concerned with. Just like a car engine, no valves to adjust, no carburetors to tune, nothing. I change oil every 7500 miles. I've always used the BRP XPS oil. Why change brands if what you use works? Forget the Kenda OEM tires. I rode this...

    Lamonsters LED headlights

I read some months ago about the LED headlights Lamonster was selling. What I would like to know, has anybody tried these lights? I have never been impressed with the stock lights, my Chevy truck uses the same 9005 bulb and those really work well. I guess I should have sprung for the Xenon...

    Update on High Mile RT-S

On an unusually warm November day in Ohio I was able to see my odometer turn over 6 digits, 100,000 miles. I wanted to do it yesterday because it was a record high, but because we have snow in the forecast for today, Saturday. Now I get to start on my second 100. It took me 2 years, 5 months...

    High Mile 2014 RT-S

Addictive Ride I bought mine and on the same day made an appointment for the first 3000 mile service for a month later. That raised a few eyebrows, but when I showed up for the service the bike had 4300 miles on it. I had a BMW K1200LT with a Hannigan trike kit before this. I thought it was...

    High Mile 2014 RT-S

High Mile RT I see there are a few that have a passion for mile piling. It's all I do. Can we share some tips, as in tires, brakes? Stock Kenda's are a joke, I put on a pair of Kumho Solas KH16 on the front on Cinco De Mayo and have ridden 43,844 as of today, getting thin, may last the year...

    High Mile 2014 RT-S

I bought a new 2014 RT-S #4036 June 13th, 2014. I ride a lot, but I want to know if anybody has passed the 50,000 mile mark, the 75,000 mile mark? the 98,000 mile mark? I live in Ohio and tomorrow I will pass 98,000. I lost 3 months of riding in October '14 thanks to a wayward deer, but still...

Front tires for my 2014 RT Limited

Front tire info. I have some info for front tires. After trying stock Kenda's again, only getting 8300 miles, I tried Kumho KH16's. They now have 38,000 miles and still have 10,000 miles left on them. They are wearing very well. Since they are not directional, I rotate them every 5000 miles.
