• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    SPYDERFEST 2018

First and last First of all I want to thank Andy Mauger from Florida and Mike AKA Blue Knight for helping me all week. Most especially my dear friend Buckeye Bleau, Joe Bleau. I had to visit Spyderfest once, and I did it. I'm handicapped and have a hard time getting around. These friends are...

    Corbin Seat

My Corbin I've owned 3 Corbin seats and likes them all. So when I bought my new RT-S in June '14 I decided to spring for $900 and bought a heated Corbin. Big mistake. It took 6 weeks to get it and I sent it right back. The seat had my privates sitting on the glove box. It cost $100 to ship it...

Battery replacement for the 1330 RT

I have one I bought one of Lamont's MotoBatt batteries. It has a 4 post design so you don't have to double up. It seems to work fine but was disappointed to see it was made in China. A Yuasa battery can be bought from some vendors on this forum. I'll have to see how long the MotoBatt lasts...

    Sticking saddlebag

Another trick About twice a season, or more if I'm in the mood, I clean my latches with an old toothbrush and some solvent. Then finish up with a little squirt of WD40. Those latches get pretty gummed up and will stick. Chuck

    Belt problem

Mine too MY '14 RT-S had the same thing. My bubble was right in the center of the belt. Of course the dealer said to replace but I didn't. I finally did replace the belt, 92,000 miles later. Just check it from time to time. Chuck

    Side case hinges.

Thanks Bob I wrote this thread because I'm aware of the problems RT models have with side case hinges, well, not the hinges but the plastic holding them. I'm bringing awareness to all that own any RT model, these hinge brackets can fail. I know, if one fails it can ruin a vacation or long...

    Side case hinges.

I posted earlier I had my 2014 RT-S in for service. After getting it back I saw the right front side case hinge was broken. Of course they said it was like that when I dropped it off. I had planned to buy the side case hinge upgrade from Roadsterrenovations anyway. I'm handicapped and when I got...

    1330 oil filter

I use them I've been using Bajaron's Hi Flo filters for over 100,000 miles. I ride a lot and buy them 3 or 4 at a time. I buy the Amsoil he sells too. I have have not had any oil or filter issues, good stuff. Chuck

    Handicapped RT rider

Sweet! The stock 2014 RT comes with the pegs, the RT-S (like mine) and the RT-Limited come with the boards. I checked out your web page. Those are some nice boards. A bit pricey but if it comes down to it maybe a necessity. I assume your boards are the same for the stock 2013 RT and 2014...

    Handicapped RT rider

Stock floorboards My '14 RT-S came with the stock floorboards. Does your RTS have the footpegs not boards? Seals? Are those aftermarket foot rests? I do fall down. I have to watch every step I take. If I fall, I need a set of steps to get on my feet. I live with it, because I have to. Thank you...

    150,000 mile report

Belt failed When my Spyder was young, about 16,000 miles, I noticed a bump in the middle of the belt. I thought it was a stone but couldn't see anything underneath. I took it to the dealer and was told to replace it. The bill was on me to pay and I didn't want to spend $350 so I thought I'd...

    Handicapped RT rider

My way THis is how I mount my RT. I have to swing my left leg to get it on the left front floorboard. There's not enough muscle to simply lift it up. I have to make sure my shoe is on the rubber. When I get a good footing I reach up and get both hands on the bars. Then I swing my right leg to...

    150,000 mile report

Happy with my RT Yes, I did need a new drive belt at 108,000. This is the first bike I've ever owned that used a belt, I was a little leary of this. The dealer told me a belt would last 50,000+. I got 50K plus-plus. What? A 1330 ACE engine using oil? This engine has never used or leaked a drop...

What year and how many miles on it.

Not there yet.. Not quite there yet. Just a little over 149,000. Been the coldest spring I can remember. Needed some service work. Dealer had it 2 weeks. Had the steering column replaced. Had some slop in steering. Replaced rear shock air compressor. Second one. Replaced master cylinder. Leak...

    Handicapped RT rider

It's very inspiring to see handicapped riders still able to ride. I too have a handicap. I have Muscular Dystrophy. I've been riding motorcycles since I was 12. MY mother had MD, and MS. Watching her get around when I was in my late 20's I saw I had the same symptoms. MD in adults takes years to...

    150,000 mile report

Some time ago a poster asked me to keep a maintenance record of my '14 RT-S. I've been very lucky with this bike. I took it in for service March 22nd. I have the ISCI hand brake. Well,I had to refill the reservoir before each ride. Brake fluid was dripping on the muffler and it ate all the paint...

    9 degrees outside

Season eating winter I'm sure there have been colder springs, but I can't remember when. This crap has to end sometime. Woke to snow on the ground again, just like last Thursday. High of 36. This time last year I had already covered 5200 miles. This year not even 2000. I wanted to ride 52,000...

    First service on 2017 RT

2 hours? When I started doing my own oil changes it did take about 2 hours. About 45 minutes now. I jack my '14 RT-S up, use 2 oil pans and drain the oil. Then I get up and take all the tupperware off to change the filter. This takes the most time. After that's done I replace the drain plugs...

    First service on 2017 RT

Must be HOJ I had my RT's first service done July 2014 in southern Ohio too, Honda of Jackson. I asked to watch and was let in. All that was done was an oil change, checked the torque on the wheels and checked the lights. I'm thinking it was about $145. I"ve bought new bikes before but never...
