• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Global Warming......yeah, about that!

45 above? I'd love to see it that warm here in Ohio, I could get a few miles on my '14 RT-S. It hasn't been 45 here in 3 weeks. 9 below this AM. But relief is coming, 11 for the high tomorrow, but 38 coming Sunday! But rain, maybe the rain will wash some of the salt and sand off the roads. They...

    Global Warming......yeah, about that!

Yeah,right... I have to laugh when I read this. Kill off the mosquitoes? What are the 2 coldest states in the country? Minnesota and Alaska. Those 2 states grow mosquitoes as big as birds! Chuck

    Gravel Roads

Belt guard The first 2 years riding my '14 RT-S I picked up stones 3 times. All 3 times I was riding where fresh asphalt was being laid down. Those little stones are tar covered and very sticky. You can tell when you get one stuck in your belt. I was able to pull over and push my bike watching...

    Best warranty

I got mine... I bought my new 2014 RT-S se6 in June '14, it came with the factory 2 year, then BRP threw in 1 year BEST as a sales promotion. So in June this year I bought 2 more years BEST. I didn't shop around, I just didn't know I could buy from somebody else. It cost $999 for 1 year and...

air bag motor not running-2015 RT-Limited

Warranty issue. I had a hole in my air bag and the compressor had a hard time keeping up. My warranty paid for it. Mine had over 130,000 miles on it so something like this can be expected, but yours going out with only 2000 miles? That's rare. Do you ride in gravel a lot? Chuck

How many miles on your current Spyder?

You need... You need to get out more. I have 44,900 miles on my '14 RT this year. If my RT's health holds up, and mine, I'm going for 54,000 next year for a total of 200,000. These machines are built to run, and run. I've been very lucky with this one. Buckeye Chuck east central Ohio

More info on Doc's belt tensioner.

I ride my 2014 RT-S a lot. This last April I bought Doc's belt tensioner. It did work very well. However the stock spring broke after a few thousand miles. Doc sent me a new spring saying it was a thicker, better spring. But it broke as well. This time I sent the pivot arm to him for him to...

Changed my oil for the first time. Pretty easy ....

Same for me... That's the way I do it also. I even have the Gold plugs. I'm handicapped and have a hard time getting back to my feet after laying under my '14 RT. After getting the bike high enough I'll open both drains then get back up. Then I take the right side tupperware off and change the...

    2014 Rts left head light

Mine too My '14 RT-S did the same thing. I finally noticed both connectors were melted and smelled burned. I bought new ones at Autozone and replaced the bulbs with LED's. Problem solved Chuck

    Spyedrman Exhaust

What? I own a 2014 RT-S and I have a hard time believing anybody would want to change the stock exhaust. I like a quiet bike, I want to hear the tires, I want to hear the air passing my helmet. I've heard aftermarket exhaust pipes, deleting the catalytic and stock exhaust makes the Spyder sound...

    making progress

That's strange..... My '14 RT-S has the same thing. Despite my desire to go one direction, my Spyder does what it wants, goes the other way. It has a mind of it's own. It's good to know I'm not the only rider who has this "problem". Hope the healing goes well. Spring will be here soon. Chuck

    It's Going To Be January...

JANUARY??? It's been since June without a Spyder to ride? By now I'd be having withdrawal symptoms, craving, uncontrolled shaking, screaming out my back door. How do you get your "fix"? Here in Ohio I ride year 'round but in winter it may be several days between rides. On those days I can be...

Guess when I used Premium vs Regular

Regular or premium. I read some months back in Rider magazine in letters to the editor, a reader asked this, regular or premium. The reply stated in a liquid cooled engine the combustion chamber will stay at a more constant temperature than an air cooled engine. An air cooled engine when in...

New bikes - what they could have done better

Amen Joe I waited for a 6 speed 3 cylinder engine for 3 years. I knew I would ride many miles and couldn't afford 2 tanks of gas a day the 990 twin would give. I knew, my State Farm insurance agent had a 2012 RTL. He said he got a paltry 25-28 mpg. There's no way I could fill my tank twice a...

how to clean out evap canister any vidios

My problem too. I've been having trouble with this too. Love to fix it. But a simple question, Where can I find the cannister? I would assume the air filter is close by. If I remove the cannister do I just plug the hoses with a bolt and small clamps? Thanks Chbuck

    Four Corners Tour

4 corners The Iron Butt 4 corners ryde starts at any one "corner". If it starts at Key West the ryde is finished in California. If you think you need to go back to the original "corner", wouldn't that be the 5 corners ryde? Good question Joe. Chuck
