• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2nd Gear Hesistation SE transmission

    I'm seeing the same thing on my 2013 RS-S. I road 2.5 hours tonight with a stop for awesome NC BBQ in the middle. The only times that it did it were on the way back. I'm trying to figure out how to reproduce it. It's not a big deal...it just hesitates going in to second sometimes.

    Let's be honest. If half the sport bikes out there can be sold....they could sell a sport Spyder with a greatly reduced VSS. Or at least give us an option to shut it off like almost every other vehicle with stability/traction control.

    Had the 2013-9 update done last week and today it was 80 degrees so I took the RS-S out and flogged it good. It really does seem to run better and have faster response.... But every time I took a hard right turn and saw the VSS light flash I thought of this thread... Might be time to shim...

    Yeah..well..sometimes you just want to kick the backend out.. :) Or take off a little quicker than usual in traffic. I may shim mine as well. It is VERY sensitive on those right handers pulling out.

    Bought mine at the very end of 2013. First Spyder. 850 miles on it so far and love it. I'd have +1K on it but weather and needing to get my 600 mile service are slowing me down. EDIT: And..uh..it's an RS-S. Forgot that!

    Find a friend w/ one and a parking lot.... Or go get a learner's permit. Here in NC it's not hard to get the learner's permit. Just take the written test and you can go ride whatever you want, just no passenger.

    Go find a great deal on a 2013 RS-S. The big change to the 2014 is a "loosened" VSS on the 2014 but no one has done a back to back comparison to see how much further you can push the Spyder in a corner. I bet you can find a good enough deal on a sitting 2013 to forget about that.

    The problem is that there aren't enough of us to get prices down due to volume. Plus...accessories for stuff like this just cost a lot. I used to own a Corvette. The same part for a Camaro was often 30% to 50% less than the same part that was slightly different for a Vette.
