• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Whos NOT upgrading to 2014 ?

I posted a week ago thinking about trading up to a 2014 RT. I have a 2012 RT and I have modified it to suit me! I like a lot of the changes in the new RT but the responses to my post made me think twice (and more!). My bike is paid for, looks great and is still under warranty so I decided to...

Touring Advice - Maggie Valley / Gatlinburg

That area is FULL of great riding. "Must rides" for us are the Cherohala Skyway, Tail of the Dragon, the River Road starting around Townsend and, of course, ride from Maggie Valley to Ashville on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is also a great day ride through the Pisgah Forest on route 215. It is...

    Trade Up??

I am SO tempted to trade my 2012 RT for a new one. It is a good bike in fine condition. I have highway bars, a back rest, racing stripes and a skid plate (which I love the looks of). But the idea of better gas mileage and more power is nearly irresistible! I would love some ideas on what you...

    Please Remind Me!

Hi everyone, Last year I bought a pair of velcro-on padded grips for my Spyder. They were great. I got them from a company advertising on this site but I can't remember the name of the company. I wore out the left grip and need to replace them. Does anyone remember which company was...

New to the Forum with Questions

Hi, I have a 2012 RT. It is the most comfortable thing I have ever ridden. My husband and I do a lot of touring long distances. It is very stable at highway speeds and easy to pack and unpack. I rode Harleys for many years and I won't go back. I like taking people for rides on this machine...

Question...has any guy ridden passenger with their girl/wife 2-up?

Hi Tony, My husband rides a Harley StreetGlide. After a long day on the road he parks it at our hotel and rides behind me to dinner and for an after dinner ride. He has no problem with it. We have seen several other couples riding the same. If it's an ego thing, overcome it. You might...

    Time For New Tires!

I took my RT to the dealer yesterday and left it to have a new set of tires put on the bike. I have a little over 15,500 miles on the tires/bike. The back tire could have gone a few more miles but the fronts were worn so much I could feel it when was riding. $495.00 for 3 new tires...

    RT Blues

Hi guys, I got my bike back today and the dealership installed a tone wheel, a speed sensor and some shims. I have no idea what a tone wheel is. Does anyone know? I rode the hour an a half home with no problem. I hope I am good for thousands of miles now!

    Replacement Panel

Last year BRP sent out vouchers so we could upgrade/change a panel on the bike to have easier access to check the oil. Does anyone have a picture of one of those new panels installed? Does it look any different from the older panel?

The codes including 'limp mode', vss and dps, check engine, etc... were back this morning. We were able to get the limp mode cleared and I rode it the 2 hours to the dealer. They kept it saying they will replace a speed sensor (which indicated I had been riding over 100 mph. I had not!), a...

    Homesteader Enclosed Trailer Thoughts?

It's funny that I have been looking at this manufacturer and model of trailer today too! We ride and RT and a Street Glide. I was looking at an 8' by 16' style. The dealer wants $5100.00 for the top of the line model. I would love to hear from people who own one as well.

    RT Blues

We came home from work and looked at the things suggested, except for the battery connection in the body of the bike. We found a loose relay and snugged down all the fuses. The fault codes disappeared. I went for a ride and all was fine. I came home and turned off the bike for a bit...

    RT Blues

Thanks for the suggestions. The dealer claimed the checked the battery connections last month, but who knows. I'll get my hubby to do it. Is it possible that putting a license plate surround that is lighted could have sparked these problems?

    RT Blues

Well my RT has some serious problems. Last month it was in the shop (causing a major disruption of our vacation) and the ECM (?) was replaced, the main computer component. This morning when I tried to ride to work the same problems occurred: DPS fault code, ABS fault code and Limp Mode in...
