• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RT vibration issue

It's the belt! The vibration usually happens starting at approx 68 mph and will oscillate (vibration off and on) up till you're over 80mph. There are aftermarket belt tensioners (smooth spyder) that will help. There is a youtube video where the guy mounted a gopro camera where you can see the...

Front tires for my 2014 RT Limited

I've gotten almost 21,000 miles on my original front tires. They are absolutely ready to be changed! Has anyone used a Goodyear dealership to replace your front tires? If so, what tire did you use? Second question: is the lazer alignment just for the rear tire (nothing to do with the front)...

    Milage --WOW

My 2014 RT Limited got 44 mpg one time...now most of the time it's around 40-41mpg (I check it every time I fuel up). What's interesting is that prior to 8000 miles, it was only getting average 33-35. The mpg went up after I had some work done on the bike (not related to the engine) but where...

Headlight out on my 2014 RT ...How hard is it to DIY change?

Thanks for the info everyone...one more question: is there an issue of aiming (adjusting) the NEW bulb or is it just plug and go? And by the way, the light that is burned out is on the left hand side, rider facing forward to the road ahead (right hand side if you are in front of the bike facing...

Headlight out on my 2014 RT ...How hard is it to DIY change?

Where did you get your LED bulbs? I'm thinking that if the origanl bulbs go this fast, and are this involved to change, I may want the LEDs. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Headlight out on my 2014 RT ...How hard is it to DIY change?

I noticed today that the left headlight on my 2014 Spyder RT is out (bike is still under warranty) but they say warranty doesn't cover light. I flashed between high and low beam but neither high or low works on that light. That made me think perhaps it's not the bulb but something...

    Oil change diy

Thanks for the replies. Just curious, how many of you do your own oil change? From all I have seen (i.e. Shawn's youtube video) there are a number of things that could go wrong...that could potentially cause serious damage. I've done oil changes on my inboard boat, cars/trucks, and some past...

    Oil change diy

Shawn Smoak has a two part video on youtube that shows in amazing detail the process of the oil change for a 2015 Spyder RTS (Shawn is a mechanic/tech at a Can Am dealership). He gives detail to the step by step process including certain cautions to be on the look out for. Great job Shawn!! But...

Vibration at 67-75 MPH on F3-S

My 2014 RT Limited has over 19,000 miles. It still has the vibration that begins (depending on whether going up hill or down) approx 67-70 mph. It's always done it, including after an adjustment from one of the biggest (and best) Can Am dealerships in the country. I have heard of many other RT...

Vibration at 67-75 MPH on F3-S

It is the drive belt vibration. I had / have the same thing. There are a couple products on the market. Google Smooth Spyder (I think that's what it's called). Nearly all Spyders have this issue. You would think Can Am would have addressed it. When I first got my Spyder and drove on the...

    Fuel Mileage 2013 RTS

My 2014 RT (1330) was getting only 31-33 mpg until it turned over 8,000 miles... then (almost like magic) the millage jumped up and since has continuously gotten 39-41 average....and on a few occasions 44mpg. I now have 19,000 miles. One of the reasons I did not buy a 998 was fuel economy. The...

    Farkle time

Thanks for the info. This looks like something that would be very helpful especially during day riding and the turn signal is on (and you don't mean for it to be on) but the dash indicator is hard to see. Just curious too, how do the lights attach? Adhesive or screws? Thanks again. Sent from...

Inaccurate speedometer / thermometer / clock

My 2014 Spyder RT Limited's speedometer is off (compared to the speed on the GPS) 2 mph . The thermometer is always off by 7 degrees and the clock runs so fast, I have to reset it about every 2 weeks. Is this just mine or are there others of you having the same issue? And does anyone know of a...

    Rear tire worn

Oh, and one other thing...I did lower the air pressure a couple pounds in the rear and I am getting much better tread life and more even wear accross the tire. Also had the rear wheel bearing changed. Could be just a better tire ...or maybe all of the above. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

    Rear tire worn

The original rear tire on my 2014 Spyder was ready to be changed around 6,000 miles...and yep, it wore out in the middle. I was told that Can Am had a batch of tires with terribly soft rubber and they got so many complaints they changed to a harder compound. I assume this to be true because my...
