• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If you have a Tomtom..better watch out.

Interesting. Actually, I don't have a problem with that. It seems like it could help determine who is at fault in an accident. As I have managed to avoid any accidents in 24yrs of driving - sometimes despite the apparent best efforts of another driver - I can't help but to think that this...

If you have a Tomtom..better watch out.

"How does GPS work? Each GPS satellite transmits signals to equipment on the ground. GPS receivers passively receive satellite signals; they do not transmit." http://www.carid.com/images/gps-systems/tomtom/tomtom-faq.html I'm assuming the device saves data for your driving and just sends it...

If you have a Tomtom..better watch out.

I thought most GPS units (excluding smart phones, of course) were purely 1-way communication devices? That is, the receive statellite signals but cannot send info because they have no transmitter. Am I wrong on this?

    Brake light modulators

Has anyone installed a brake light modulator on a Spyder? If so, what brand, did it work OK, or cause any computer problems? http://www.customdynamics.com/signal_dynamics_back_off_brake_light_modulator.htm Cheers.

    what exhaust?

This would be a great Spyderfest project: line up bikes with all the common exhausts (start with stock, then Hindle, HMF, TB single, TB dual, etc...) and move down the line making a video (from about 10' behind each bike) as the owner starts it up and revs it to 5-6k, then shuts it down and we...

    Motorcyle crash to analyze

I never rode a real MC, except around a parking lot. I always felt too vulnerable and never had any desire to ride one on the street. When I bought the Spyder, I had started out looking for a nice little roadster, but anything short of $60k was woefully short on HP, IMHO. Anyway, thank God for...

    Motorcyle crash to analyze

In a rear-ending accident, the vehicle behind is ALWAYS at fault. It doesn't matter how quickly the vehicle in front slowed down, the trailing vehicle must leave enough space to react and stop should the vehicle in front suddenly slam on it brakes (you never know when the vehicle in front of him...

    yet another three wheeler

For better or worse, you won't see a reverse trike 'version' of any current production model. To be safe, it has to be designed from the ground-up as solely a reverse trike.

    Mid-year RS change?

But that doesn't explain why a 2010 model, as in the original post, would lack them...:chat: BTW - I have a 2009 SE5 RS with no fins. I feel cheated now...:(

    cant register on BRP SITE

My advice: don't bother. After seeing this email, I just went back there and checked it out... I hadn't been there in 6 months, and don't feel like I missed anything. Or... am I missing something? Is there any point to their site? The only remotely useful thing is being able to map Ryders near...

    Bike leaning??

Check out the things mentioned above - look for damage, check tire pressures, check shocks. If all check out, it's likely the crown of the road. :joke: Here's a crazy idea: Trying going to a nice empty and flat parking lot (like at a school on the weekend) and ride around and see if you still...

    Taxi?

:agree:The Spyder is as wide up front as a small car. Even if you were allowed to lane-split, you'd rarely be able, so its not going to get you there faster than a car. The idea makes sense in Europe where they lane-split and jump to the head of the queue at red lights (which gets annoying...

Another idea: mix a medley between Boston's 'More than a feeling' and 'Peace of mind'.

Love the ZZ Tops intro but....

Lot of great songs here, although I think customers already associate most of them with something. La Grange by ZZ Top was a pretty good choice, although for some reason it reminds me of a Viagra commercial. If I were a marketer I'd choose a song that's a little less common that speaks to the...

    Windshields for RS

I bought this windscreen from these guys: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200559638429&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT For my taste, it's a bit taller, but not too tall, and installed in about 5 minutes.

    Street Magic SPX-15 Muffler

I had the HMF and liked the throaty rumble, but found it too loud for my taste. I switched to the TwoBros single can with the silencer insert and I am quite happy. However, I do recommend re-mapping with any change in exhaust. The HMF and 2Bros have their own systems available to do this. I...

Only girls ride three wheels !!!

I've never gotten any negative comments. The worst I've gotten is a few sleazy looking HD riders who 'look away' from me. Most riders however, wave and are nice. I've gotten a fair number of questions in parking lots, a couple of car drivers honking and waving, and few pedestrians gawking with a...

Spyder is worse than an ice cream truck?

In my field we call this building up a strawman: you take someone else's words and twist and distort them to suggest they said something silly which they really didn't say, then you come in as the big strong hero to tear down that strawman.
