• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    helmits

I agree 100% that wearing a helmet should be a choice (except for kids). However, I kind of also feel that if you get into an accident while not wearing a helmet and end up a vegetable, you should forfeit all rights to government assistance to take care of you for the rest of your life. But...

    Remote Control Spyder RS

I got one for my son at Christmas. We were walking thru Walmart buying some 'Toys for Tots' when he called me over to a display with the biggest grin on his face. I was surprised when I saw it. I went back later and got it for him - it works pretty good for the price (was $50) and he loves it.

Here's a great one if you really want to look like a clown (and I mean that in so many ways): http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/33579/ITEM/Icon-Alliance-Krazy-Klown-Helmet.aspx

Only girls ride three wheels !!!

Speaking of 'early adopters', some of y'all might find this amusing: http://www.collegehumor.com/video/6348675/early-adopters-through-history

Only girls ride three wheels !!!

Oh well, even Elvis wasn't loved by everyone... If it ever happens again, just be prepared to blow his doors off and show him how a 'girl' rides. Or ask him: well you've got 4 wheels, what's that make you?

    Looking for a hit-man

In my neck of the woods (near Albany, NY) we had a good deal of rain 2 weeks ago that got rid of 99.9% of the snow, then a couple of days of sun and temps in the low 60s - during which, I got to ryde and felt alive again! But, right after that, freezing rain, salt everywhere, and consistently...

    Can you top this

Isn't that when the flux capacitor is supposed kick in?

    Can you top this

Thanks, I didn't realize that. So does that mean if I'm accelerating hard and keeping my eyes more on the road than on the tach, I don't have to worry (at least too much) about shifting too late and damaging the engine from revving too high?

    Can you top this

What is the top speed governed at: is it 110mph as I recall? Can you defeat it? Moreover, has anyone done so and if so what is the fastest you have really gone (at a race track, of course...:D)

    My favorite Spyder ever !!!

I love that colored-chrome-look paint. I'd love to see a Spyder done out in black-chrome. Most of the custom work I've seen has been pretty cool. However, there have been a few that, IMHO, well... maybe not so much.

    Too good to be true...?

As they warn on Craigslist: "Offers to ship a vehicle are virtually 100% fraudulent" and "Stories about divorcees or departing servicemen needing to sell quickly at a low price are generally fraudulent" (http://albany.craigslist.org/cgi-bin/autos.cgi?&category=cta/)

    After Market Exhaust

Are you sure of that aka1004? I recently put on the TBR single can, liked the tone but found it too loud for me (I felt similar about the HMF). I put on the p1x and don't really notice much difference... might be able to tell the difference if i had a dB meter, but by naked ear it don't really...

    The dumbest Spyder question yet.

In all fairness, rear-wheel steering does exist (e.g. on forklifts and some other vehicles like payloaders). I think most of the questions can be excused as amusingly niave, rather than stupid. Even the questions about whether its street-legal, and even if you are driving it on the street at the...

New Reverse Trike to Replace Spyder

Hey guys - there's a new reverse trike on the market - could be serious competition for the Spyder... http://www.thecarconnection.com/marty-blog/1057026_screw-gas-drive-a-drill-powered-electric-suicide-trike

    Ethanol and Power

I notice a huge difference in performance (acceleration) of my Accord V6 when I can find ethanol free gas. I notice difference less so with my other car. Has anyone run both types in their Spyder and compared them? http://www.motorcycleperf.com/techtips/gasoline.htm For ethanol free gas...

    Key Management

I lock the bars every time, never had a problem. Sometimes you have to jiggle the bars a bit, but it's just like when you park your car on a hill and point the wheels into the cub (downhill) or out from the curb (uphill). Your car locks the steering wheel whenever you take out the key, and you...

    Key Management

:agree: Seriously, does anyone not lock the handlebars before they walk away from the Spyder???? When you lock the handlebars, its just kind of natural to take out the key as you do it... The Spyder is SO easy to steal if you don't lock the bars - anyone can come up, take off the parking brake...

    Another three-wheeler

Seriously, would anyone take a corner fast on that thing?

    New Trike

Agreed - didn't mean to imply any disrespect. I'd be happy to ride with or have a drink with any trike rider, just saying if it wasn't for the Spyder I personally would have never considered a 'trike'.

    Positioning Aftermarket Pipes

Hmmm... that would solve it. I kind of like that look. Was it much trouble to move your license plate? Would love to see a pic! BTW bjt - I sent you an email about shipping the old pipe.
