• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Transmission Question

Love the SE... but as Scotty says.. it is a personal choice.. I rowed the gears for many years on many different bikes and rode both the SM and SE before purchasing the SE... no regrets.. BTW welcome aboard.

    Summer trip Colorado

Last time we went to the Black Hills Rally in Sturgis (2003), on the way back, we stayed here http://www.riverviewrv.com/. We were tent camping. Gives you a good jump off to a lot of places and it is/was a great park.

Did you get your DPS done yet?

Had mine done over the Christmas holidays... put about 400 miles on it since then as the weather warms.. on mine it is like riding a different Spyder.. a VERY GOOD different. Steering is silky smooth and precise..

    91 octain fuel

I know the ECM will adjust for different octanes.. but the manual for my RTS states the engine compression ratio is 12.2:1. In a few other vehicles I have owned or built, that kinda compression ratio almost demanded 91 or better pump gas.. but then again those were carb non computer engines...

    RT-S SM5 or SE5

George, you know my preference... and I am having a blast riding the twisties (more and more aggressively) in my neck of the Hill Country; I do the down shifting 99% of the time.. I have rowed the gears for many years on two wheelers but have ZERO regrets in choosing the SE5 for the Spyder...

    Ready for $4+ gas??

Filled up my Ford F450 yesterday to the tune of $95 (3.40/gal).. we are full time RV'ers and the 450 is our only "cage".. luckily we are parked at our "home base" (our property) and can stay parked.. guess I will start running up the (s)miles on the Spyder as it becomes our grocery-getter as...

My 2011 RT Handling is Awesome

George, I run my front shocks at 5 (Bruce at STS set them that way when I picked it up). Front tires are at 18 (I tried them at 20 but prefer 18). I run the rear airbag at 3 when riding solo and 4-5 when riding two-up... happy with the handling now that my DPS has been exchanged.. these...

    DPS...finally

Got mine back from my dealer a week or so back... ride home (80 miles) is full of twisties once I get near home.. steering to me seems sooo much smother, more linear (easier off center and remains the same throughout) thus making the twisties a lot easier to deal with. That is a good thing as I...

    Question on RT-S SE5

Hey George if it ever warms up again, I can ride over (or we can meet somewhere) and you can poke around on my 2010 RT-S (I live near Medina)... so far I have only had the dealer in Lytle do the oil change (first one as I only have 900 miles on my Spyder).

    Insurance Rates

Approximately the same for me from Markel with all of the above discounts... location is the TX hill country.. Markel has been easy to deal with.. I have Geico for everything else (for over 25 years) but they were about twice as much for some reason...

    Insurance questions...

I got full coverage (500 deductible, high liability coverages, no PIP or uninsured/underinsured motorist) from Markel http://markelinsuresfun.com/home for under $500. I assume you live in Bexar county so your rates may be higher than mine since I live in rural Bandera county... I tried Geico...
