• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    F3 after first oil change

My first one is currently being done at 1005 miles, about 200 past what I wanted but we had great weather lol. It will get new oil and filter every 3000 miles from now on. Yeah ok maybe 3500 once in a while if most are highway miles but never over that. Oil and filters are cheap, ......well...

    F3 died out

UPDATE.....it did not happen from mile 330 to about 750, then it happened twice, once on a easy stop light slow down and other on a right hand hard slow down turn. It's at Jim Potts in Woodstock, and Gater is going to check it out, he has a few ideas. (I mentioned I see and E in the gear...

    Easier clutch update??

Or guys like me with a bad left tennis elbow from machining for the past 23 years. I can't wait for the fix I noticed it right away and it sucks driving home from work in traffic after elbow is angry from working all day.

    Bulbs

No worries, I hated that the only service manual I could get for my 2009 was a digital version. You don't know how many times I was tempted to print the hundreds of pages and make a binder. Searching on a laptop with greasy hands is not fun.

    Present from BRP

My dentist x-rayed my 2009 key for me, all it took was to show him the bike after my appointment. After that I knew right where the chip was. Mine was at a pretty good angle, I ended up drilling it a tad off center to be safe.

    Bulbs

I stand by my original statement just went through the manual again and it does not state bulb number! Only thing it states is wattage. So I surely hope your weren't nipping at me.;)

    Bulbs

I read the manual cover to cover, always do with any new vehicle, I did not recall seeing any bulb specifications for any of the bulbs except the front LEDs it said to see the dealer. I will check when I get home I may have just missed it. I did skip over the "how to ride a Spyder" part...

    Bulbs

Sorry about that, yes I have a F3-S. I guess I was so excited when I got it I never thought to change my profile :banghead:

    Bulbs

Sorry to be a repeat but I have seen conflicting bulb numbers, I would take them out but it's a PITA. The standard and fog lights are H7 and H3 correct?

    A little advise

I bought my bike as a "toy" and while I don't beat on it, I do like to have fun and drive it as such. I tend to ride in the 4000-5000 range, there it sounds good, has power at a moments notice, and pulls hard. I will hit 6th gear on long highway trips but for the most part I hardly even hit 5th...

    Throttle

Mine does too, mentioned to my dealer he said they have had a couple guys mention it too. We checked bikes on sales floor and some were worse than mine. Plan on having them look at it at my first oil change/check up.

    Adding Floorboards

I am looking more to ADD floor boards behind the foot peg. I would like to keep the pegs and then have a board to rest foot flat on occasion. Looks like I may have to get creative as Dan suggested. I was hoping for a bolt on solution though.

    Adding Floorboards

Does anyone know if you have your foot pegs, shifter and brake in the #4 position, can you add the floorboards behind them? Or do you have to remove the pegs and replace with the boards?

    Bajaron Sway Bar

I used ramps in reverse (backed onto them) for most of the work. Then used jack for extra height when removing stock bar. Had block of wood and jack in center front frame. Had 2 neighbors help tilt to one side. It went fast, maybe not the most secure way but it worked and we were safe.

    Bajaron Sway Bar

Added a Bajaron sway bar and end links last night. WOW what a difference, I was able to take the tight turns on my way work this morning at least 20 MPH faster with no issue. I still can not figure out why BRP just don't make them like this out of the box. Once I add my Elkas this thing will be...

    Tank protector

I found out the place that did my business signs and truck lettering does custom clear paint proctor with Xpel. I am stopping there on my home today.

    Shout out to Elka

Sometimes you don't fully appreciate something until it's gone. I added Elka stage 1 shocks to my 2009 RS in 2011 with about 7000 miles on it. The day I installed them I was shocked at how great the bike rode. I just traded the bike in with 35,000 miles on it a week ago, and removed my shocks...

    Tank protector

:banghead: I feel stupid never thought to look to our sponsors. That's perfect, especially cause I am going to use a key ring and have a garage remote and the urban rack key dangling around up there too.

    Tank protector

So I noticed the other day in the sun, my jacket seems to be starting to scratch the black tank right where it meets the seat front. BRP does not carry a protector sticker for that area on the F3, nor will they next year. Anyone have any other source for a clear plastic sticker type protector I...

    Best wind protection

Looking for opinions on the largest warmest windshield. I ride all winter as long as there is no snow on the ground. On my 2009 RS I used the stock one or none in the summer and BRP's monster one (largest one) with the side wind flares in the winter. I will most likely do the same with my new...
