• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Trip planning software....

Garmin's MapSource has a crude stab at this under Preferences which allows you to select your preferred road-type with a sliding scale, narrow country roads at one end of the scale and inter-state highways at the other. My biggest gripe is being taken off route onto a minor road, or track, in...

    REAR TIRE alignment?

Been there, asked the same question about 2 years back. The alignment of the rear wheel is done by adjusting the wheel axle adjusters so that the toothed drive belt runs about 1 mm from the inside flange of the wheel's drive sprocket. This aligns the rear wheel with engine drive sprocket using...

On UK News they said the Grand Canyon would be closed. Does it have a door?:hun::roflblack:

    Questions - Feed back

The radio going off briefly is down to the Load Shedding Relay which acts to give the starter motor access to maximum current draw from the battery during engine turn over and start up. When the motor fires the generator begins to produce electrical power and at that point the LSR is taken out...

Anyone Ride Year Round in Northern Climates?

Our Local Gov't Traffic Dept's brag at how much salt they have stockpiled before the onset of winter. I HATE the stuff, my wife and I refer to it as "motorcycle dissolving fluid". There is nothing quite as effective as salt water for aging a bike before its time. :sour:

    BRP got it made

BRP frequently get caught out with faults that their customers are first to discover so the company is obliged to play catch-up, inventing fixes in a hurry, the 2013 "solution" to excessive heat/fire risk is a case in point. It sounds simplistic to suggest that BRP should do more critical...

Uneven load when jacking the RT

Thanks for your responses, "they all do that" was exactly what I was hoping to hear!

Uneven load when jacking the RT

Using the spar which runs centrally underneath the RT as a jacking point, when I jack my RT the right wheel and rear wheel raises but the left stays down. The left side of the RT behaves as though it is a good deal heavier than the right. What I'm looking for is confirmation that other owners...

    First Ride of 2014 RT

When I bought my 2011 RT 1500 miles was half way to a routine oil change. But things are better now, 1500 miles is a third the way to a routine oil change. :roflblack:

    First Ride of 2014 RT

Hold up, isn't that exactly what you are doing to Finless, opinion bashing? Opinions are all we have on this forum. We share them, one with another. And I noticed that Finless apologized to Fred for the personal opinion he had formed on his video's. Did you notice how polite he was being toward...

    First Ride of 2014 RT

So there was something good about the 2013 models after all! I am still locked into the dark ages of 2011 cos that's what I ride. Canceling the turn signal on my Spyder was/is, (ahem), "troublesome". You may have seen comment hereabouts to that effect... :f_spider:

I talked with BRP for a rebate for 2013 to 2014

It's only insignificant if you are not directly affected. The deal here is that BRP have recognized there is a heat/fire issue and are providing a fix. BRP tend to drag their feet - look how long it took for the defective fuel cap to be replaced. Their quick response with the 2013 overheating...

    First Ride of 2014 RT

I just noticed in the video that the troublesome indicator cancel button has been replaced with a 3-way switch. Looks as though you have left and right indication and an "off" position in the middle, should be easy to find with your thumb.

    Spyder and Gravel road

I agree. The dealer who sold me my RT was located off the main road down a lane of about 60 yards coated with granite gravel chips. It wasn't his fault, his business was a lodger unit in a farm complex. In only my second visit my Spyder's belt was damaged by a small piece of gravel. I wasn't...

    Laser Alignment Question

That's a fearsome statement, I've had my Spyder 2.5 years and I have yet to ride any distance without holding onto the bars. I have 2 hands and 2 bar ends and I'm sure as can be that they were made for each other. I just know something very painful would happen if I were to try letting go. I'd...

    rear shock air

Like Scotty said, probable cause is a disconnected ACS link. See photo. I lost the connecting bolt on the way home from collecting my new Spyder RT from the dealer in 2011. "Manual" means you can set the ride height by manually putting more or less air in the rear suspension. To do this at a...

    Check DPS

I had a "check engine - limp home" while I was holidaying in Spain. No codes. I took the key for a walk and it ran OK. It took a while to believe my Spyder really was OK, it's a question of trust. When a serious reverse trike becomes available from a company other than BRP I'll get rid of this...

    World's most expensive Spyder sidekick???

Best solution for leg heat problem on RT

Mostly, vehicle manufacturers TEST their products way in advance of launch so that customers find they have bought something that has miles of running in its pedigree and is fit for purpose from the get-go. The list of things that could be done better on the Spyder grows ever longer where...

    Book on Safety

In the UK we have The Institute of Advanced Motoring, (IAM). It's the next level up once you have passed the mandatory Dept of Transport driving or riding test and it exists to teach you how to be a better, safer driver or rider. It also aims to rid you of the bad driving habits that most of us...
