• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New personal record

Oops, dammit! Well, I've done it more than a few times. But I'm lucky because my 20 year old Widder cords unplug themselves with a good tug, so I'm just standing there with a cord dangling and hoping nobody noticed.

    Seat tears

If you're going to get a new seat Take a look at the Diamond seats. I've had 3 (on different bikes) and really like them. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?45522-new-diamond-seat Bert

    new diamond seat

More details Len, remember my dark red 04 Gold Wing with the velour seat you got at the end of July --that was a Diamond seat. I think you turned it pretty quick--should have been worth another $500 on the trade!! I realize now that the "Old Feets" probably took their bike to Mark rather...

    new diamond seat

I have had 3 Diamond seats in the last 30 years--all excellent. I talked to Mark about one for my Spyder last summer and he said he would not be fabricating his own seat pan like he does for other models. Did you have to send your seat pan? How long did it take? How much?

    Belt tension question, maybe clarity

Thanks. I don't plan to mess with it now, so I won't ask about the right tools. And I know you can't share the cuss words here. If I do, maybe you can PM me with the right words.

    Belt tension question, maybe clarity

Quote: "If you jack the Spyder up, your readings would be lower. For an RTS or RT-LTD, the ACS sensor link should be disconnected before you do that to prevent you from damaging the link." Quote: "The ACS sensor link does not have to be disconnected to do the tension check. The only time you...

    I'm getting really tired......

Teeny-boppers like it too I had a handful of cute little teeny-bopper girls give me thumbs up and "I like your bike" today when I rode past just as school was getting out. I guess they couldn't tell how old I was inside my full-face helmet. Or maybe it wouldn't have made any difference...

RT Model for Camping - Storage and weight questions

You said "we" so I presume you carry a passenger. I used to camp with my son on a Yamaha Venture, and it was tight strapping everything on. And we didn't even take some normal camping stuff. I have camped solo with my RT and did fine. But I had stuff strapped to the back seat. I could not...

    Greasin' the Belt

I got a tube of Valvoline Synthetic grease, put on a few pea-sized dabs, & it is quiet as new. Now instead of feathering the throttle in public (such an embarassing noise it made), I can goose it a little bit. For $6 I got enough grease for about a thousand treatments. If your belt squeals...
