• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Checking oil level

Have I worried for naught about airbox oil? "The RT has a different design. I have heard of no problems with the RT, and had none myself." Ron, I noted this quote from Scotty from April 2011 about airbox oil when reading the thread with your catch-can description. Is it confirmed that there...

    Checking oil level

Keep it full? I had a Japanese bike with a sight gauge. I don't remember which one. But my primary question is this: Seems like I have read comments in the last year about running the oil level at about 1/2 on the dipstick to prevent excess oil in the air box. Is this a bad idea if you use...

    Greasin' the Belt

My RT belt started squeaking a little on acceleration in lower gears at a couple thousand miles & the tech a Cowtown told me he put a little grease on it. Worked pretty good, but now about 5 or 6 thousand later it is squealing like a stuck pig. The service bulletin posted at...

Yeah, I still like to hold a magazine or newspaper in my hands. Guess I'm just old-fashioned. Newsweek just published its last print edition last week & I have 3 months to go. My Cycle World still comes in the mail.

    HELMET CHOICE

Wife & I have had two Nolan modulars in the past and liked them. We got Shoei Neotecs this time. I have about 10,000 miles on mine now and agree with all Ypilot & Ghall said. I liked the quick release on the Nolans rather than D rings on the Shoei. We have Scala Rider intercoms and the...

    Battery age

A rose is a rose is a rose, but is lithium ion same as lithium iron same as LiPo? Scotty says: "If you want the best battery available, I would consider a lithium-iron battery." WackyDan says, re the LiPo battery: "you are better off with traditional lead acid batteries." Are we comparing...

    Battery age

How heavy? ... If you want the best battery available, I would consider a lithium-iron battery. They are lightweight, durable, and don't lose a charge sitting idle (except for parasitic losses). Is a lead-acid-battery heavier than a lithium-iron battery?
