• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

great idea for all you campers

The rider works in the aircraft industry. His work is amazing. He decided that he didn't want to pay for a trailer so he built one. I used to be subscribed to his thread on AdvRider but Baldy has changed message board software and I lost all of my subs. Got it. Here's a link to a thread that he...

Locking your helmet - Another (inexpensive) alternative

I've used the cable system on a number of bikes. Picked up a 3ft cable, looped at both ends, and use it for helmet, jacket, or most recently, the Kurikan Pet Palace. The cable is not infallible but it makes the grab and run type of theft a bit more difficult.

    Cold Weather Neck/Face Cover Up

Wind Triangle here also. It's GoreTex nylon so it doesn't get soaked by the rain.

    Meanmoe's Pizza To Go

In a time before Caller ID, if you wanted to talk to me, you would drop a dime, let the phone ring once ring once, then hang up and call back. If you forgot to use the secret decoder ring, you would be greater by me saying "MeanMoe's Pizza To Go.” I used this technique to ferret out the...

    The Hub

Thank you to you and your wife. We had a great time and had some fantastic kids added to the spyders. The spring stiffeners take out a good amount if the body roll ( haven't taken her up on the dragon yet but the ride back was much smoother). For those readers that have not seen Dic's work...

    MC Endorcement in GA

I moved to GA in 1993. I had an operators license with a motorcycle endorsement in OH. Had to take both written tests but no road test.

    Tried a Sena 20 today

What I appreciate about Sena is that they make different base plates. I have plates mounted for a 3/4 helmet using speakers and a full faced helmet using ear monitors.

    Backrest

A you have seen, many of us have chosen the Utopia over the BRP. Cost and Adjustability are the two prime drivers. You can get an easy to install, adjustable backrest that matches your stock seat for 2/3rds of the cost of the BRP backrest. It's a no brainier, as they say.

How to hook up heated clothing

I'll second this. Yes, I could install a relay to allow a "live when running" condition but I've run my Gerbings fused line straight to the battery on the last 4 bikes that I've owned. I've wired three others for friends. You will unplug when you dismount so there isn't much of a chance that you...

    Third Brake Light

I will ask also. I've had a Whelen 500 mounted to several different bikes over the last 15 years. It is mounted to a license plate bracket and I am considering mounting it on the spyder but the license plate is too low for a HMBL (had a Givi trunk HMBL). I'm interested in pics of the installed...

Top 5 motorcycle brands in terms of units sold

I was in India for 10 days in March 2014. Heros were the popular bike. If you had money, then it was the Royal Enfield Bullet.

Little Guy 4x7 Deuce Teardrop Trailer

He had a thread up on AdvRider.com a couple years ago during the dev phase. I read that he was looking to go to production but money is always the issue when you want to maintain control of your intellectual property. I hope he finds someone to help

Bike to Bike AND Rider to Passenger

Sena SMH-10 here. 3rd year on them. Not the range as the newer products but still good. One thing regarding Sena, they are software upgradeable. Support after purchase is very good. Can't say that for Cardo. Yes, I know that Sena says that the SMH-10 battery is not replaceable but others here...

The Adventures of Ted's Red Sled 2015

Glad to hear that you are on the mend. I, too, spent the late spring and early summer dealing with the L5/S1 combo. PT helped a bit but the pain is still there. Doc says I'm not a candidate for surgery, yet. He was willing to load me up on Tramadol and send me on my way. I found the Tramadol...

    Girls on Spyders

I've submitted a request to join the group. Riding a '14 RTS. In regard to the "girl" comments, I see that it can be derogatory or as a term of endearment, but it all depends on the situation and the relationship with the person using the terms. A "girls night out" doesn't bother me but, at...

    Advantage of Vented Windshield?

It's a balance. You want to reduce but not eliminate the back pressure. The a Rifle Windscreen on my Kawasaki Concours was often referred to as the bug catcher. The vent funneled bugs right at your face. It did a great job, other than that.
