• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Quality Survey Part II

Hmmm somewhat of a catch 22...There are some design flaws which CAUSE us to mod and farkle which then cause other problems. In my case I went with dealer...when I got mine home all tires were VERY low, oil almost a quart overfilled and zero air pressure in airbag. Wouldn't have been a big deal...

    Hot foot problem

Here's an extreme fix: Top Radiator outlet blocked Lower outlet has block plate but 3" round hole for downpipe (also insulated) to divert heat away Aluminum plates behind downpipe to block any residual heat which may deflect upward Aluminum deflectors (attached to footrests) to move air over...

    Spyderpops SkidPlate

Good points but I'm of the opinion that this is the way to go for minor bumps to save plastic. Probably a moot point on a major hit BUT even with that I would think the skid would give out before the frame. Either way it an addl item to absorb energy before it makes it's way to the rider...

    Spyderpops SkidPlate

I just installed one also. I drilled them also. IMO, they are VERY necessary. The remainder of the screws are pretty much plastic to plastic. The skid plate is strong and if you hit something you'd transfer the energy to your tupperware. Attaching this strong plate to metal gives some value in...

    Any recommendations on transport trailers

part# is 219400173--$224, nice looking cover. I'd still want a lot of extra straps/bungees all over it. One issue would be flapping/rippling on the cover over the windshield causing fine scratches. If it's got soft cloth under that section and you get it tight it could work. Has anyone got...

    Any recommendations on transport trailers

No, I would worry too much about a cover becoming loose and scratching things up (or flying off into the police car behind me). Also, the 6810 is plenty wide--you can easily see where you are going up and on---the local dealer said some Spyder folks have bought the 6310 (the first two number are...

    9 months of limp mode!!!!

I had 2 wings prior to my 2012. I researched before buying an RT and had the same feelings you do but took the "risk". I had to resolve the heat issue and this forum was a great help and I knew that going into it. My first visit to a dealer was Pitbull during the Fest a year and 10K after...

    9 months of limp mode!!!!

Wow, can empathize, I've had about 9 months of limp mode but that's due to my lousy right knee.

Test Results of Heat Elimination Mods

Then I would have even thrust:)...I've actually had people asking the usual Spyder questions at traffic lights and look at that pipe and ask if that's my exhaust.

I agree with the bottom plate giving the most improvement. If I didn't add the front footrests I probably would have stopped there.

    new rear tire

I went with the Toyo recently after researching. The Falken would have been my next choice, I was a bit turned off that the Falken wasn't a symmetrical tire but it's still better than the Kumho in my opinion. It's worth a few extra bucks for the best one you can get especially given the fact...

Rain, nothing to do so I start cutting holes in my windshield

I have a CalSci also..I liked their vent so I cut same size and location on my summer sport screen. It does give some addl ventilation deflecting off of the glareshield (of course it moves higher when the screen goes up). It's value is in both buffeting reduction and adding positive pressure to...

Rain, nothing to do so I start cutting holes in my windshield

I cut this vent into a stock BRP sport screen. Easier to get at than where you're cutting. I drew the template with the windshield mounted but removed it for the cut. Thankfully the windshields go on and off fairly easy (and you get to clean the backside).

Test Results of Heat Elimination Mods

I did most everything you did including CAT removal and exhaust wrapping. I've also got the Baker wings along with the BRP adjustables. I've got both holes plugged but I use a tube to vent the lower heat down and out. I also had to use insulation under the floor boards as they were transferring...

    Air Hawk Seat Cushions

I have the 2. It is a plus on long rides for tailbone. I don't really see that it gets any more air under there. The way you set it up is to inflate it and then let air out as you sink into it. Kinda molds to your butt and plugs up any possibility of air flowing under it.

    Any recommendations on transport trailers

I just went through the same research you're doing 2 months back. I wound up buying the Aluma 6810. Perfect size for Spyder Rt, easy to load offload. Well made and much more durable in the long term over steel/wood while weighing just 1/3 rd as much. You can easily push it around with one hand...
