• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    WHERE IS EVERYONE.

It would be nice to know how many forum members are my side of the pond. Is there any way of telling?

    Has Anybody Seen?

Now I'm very new here but. 900 miles in a day. So 24 hrs, allow 4 of them for comfort and food stops, the average is 45mph. Amazing. How's he managed that!!!

    3000 mile checkup!

I'm in the same boat. 1000 miles on the clock and expect to do another 1000 before going on a 2000 mile tour. I spoke to my dealer who said no worries but don't go too far over the 4000 mark.

Told you so. If you fancy setting yourself a small goal and meeting up with a couple more Spyders have a look at Pidcock.com and look at their tours. The one next May to Boppard has two of them booked to it already, one of them mine. I run the tours for them. It would be about an 800 mile...

And I suspect as you look out this morning it's raining and you haven't yet got any gear. That's life with a bike I'm afraid. Would be nice to know where you are in UK. You might just be providing your bit of England with its first Spyder.

I have a mountain of bike clothing and to be honest most of it is too bulky or over armoured forbthe Spyder. Don't go for full length bike boots , too hot . Same with jackets and trousers, obviously waterproof but nothing thermal. As for helmets try the flip,up type . Best of luck. We...

Welcome fellow UK member. I'm also new, got mine last month. I have come from 2 wheels which apparently the less easy way into Spyder riding. Getting any accessories for them over here is much more difficult than it is for our friends over the pond but except for a half cover have yet to be...

    THEY ALL. CLUNK BUT WHY

In fact, until someone mentioned it here in one of the threads, I didn't notice it at all.Thats done it, neither had I until NOW. Might help me forget about the clunk though.

    THEY ALL. CLUNK BUT WHY

I would allow it to warm up then even pull in the clutch and count to 5 (sometimes 3) and it would clunk ..! Pull in the clutch (lever). Now that's a blast from the past. Don't want one of them again.

    THEY ALL. CLUNK BUT WHY

Hope I haven't started a war. I promise just to bang it in and zoom off.

    THEY ALL. CLUNK BUT WHY

So really it's a combination of everything that's not spinning engaging with them that are. Obvious when you think about it. Will just have to be a little more patient first thing in the morning.

    THEY ALL. CLUNK BUT WHY

So far as I know and definately my 17 RT Limited all make a loud clunk when engaging first or reverse from neutral. I had hoped after years of this on a BMW I would have it no more. But what is it. Is it the gearbox, the drive chain or even the clutch. If I knew I could teach myself to forget...

    Spyder Cover choices?

Can you elaborate on BRP logos please. Do you mean the emblems or some you have added. Do you think it was the Florida sun that caused the destruction and colour transfer.

    Sena SM10 Auto power on/off

yep, I think that's the way to go. Make it a routine to switch it off when it's put away for the day and if it's locked away don't lock the frunk. Then in the morning its just too easy to switch it on and close the lid.

    Sena SM10 Auto power on/off

Thanks very much gents. I now hve some options to consider without ripping it apart. It is odd though that over the last month it occasionally does fire up even when it's been sitting for a few days.

    Sena SM10 Auto power on/off

So everybody is stuck with manual switch on and off again. Should have stuck with Autocom I think. Thanks for the info.

    Sena SM10 Auto power on/off

Thanks. Found the catch but it doesn't want to move up, down or sideways. I'll have a word eith the dealer and see where he applied the super glue. The battery removal trick I saw on a BMW forum. It seems ridiculous you have to open the flunk on every trip to turn the thing on or off when...

    Sena SM10 Auto power on/off

This I'm sure has been discussed before but I can't figure it out. I have read you can remove or at least unplug the internal battery in the SM10 and this will allow the unit to automatically power up when you turn on the ignition and shut off when you do. Problem is mine is mounted in the...

    Cruise control

Not on my 17 Limited. Just gone through a few sets of speed cameras. Bike was in third doing 29mph. Cruise engaged when tapped down and stayed on. Revs were about 2000.

    Helmets and rain

There is just one important rule to remember about Pinlock inserts. NEVER try cleaning the insert with anything but clean water. Any type of chemical cleaner or anti fog liquid will kill it. The inside surface i.e. Next to your nose is also very delicate and will easily scratch. Hold it under...
