• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Blank Key

coded key Went to my local hardware store and asked for a Triumph or Volvo key. Then had a Volvo. Cut the key and it works fine to open trunk or seat. Can start and run Spyder if holding DESS key next to cut key, and it will run after starting just fine with coded key in my pocket. Cost $2...

    DESS

I have a question for anyone with knowledge of the DESS system on Spyders. It is possible to have a key blank cut to match the DESS key, and then use this key for the IPS ignition lock cover. My question is this: can one leave the DESS key in a pocket and still be close enough to the ignition...

    Best aftermarket windshield

Cee Bailey Look at my post under SaddleBag and check out the windwhield. Cee Bailey Aircraft Plastics is the manufacturer. It has a great reverse curve at the top which directs air (and most bugs) over your head and is therefore fairly quiet. It does not provide any wings for hand...

    Saddlebags

Highway pegs Spyder had floorboards on it when I purchased it with 570 miles on the odometer. They had required cutting some of the fairing off to fit resulting in a lot of heat to the right foot. I have size 14/15 feet and they did not fit on the floorboard without contacting the brake and...

    Saddlebags

I was asked in a PM to upload pictures of my aftermarket saddlebags. I went to LeatherMan in Osage Beach, MO and tried several sizes and styles of bags. I wanted as large as possible without interfering wilth turn signal lights. Found several and this one works with extended passenger pegs...

Looking to purchase a new RS-S

RS owner I own an RS which has been updated with an Ultimate Seat and highway pegs. IMHO it is very comfortable and a with little more "get up and go" compared to an RT, primarily due to the 200 lbs less weight. I am 6'3" so you may find the stock seat and driving position just fine as the...

    Ultimate seats

Height? I purchased an Ultimate Seat at Spyderfest. I am 6'3" and could really use an extra 2-3 inchs back, but other than that really like it so far. I ride an RS so keep that in mind if owning an RT, it could make a difference.

    Cops in Cuba......

Unreasonable stops. I happen to reside near Osage Beach, Mo, a community that welcomes thousands of visitors every weekend during the summer months. Last year the Osage Beach police set up checkpoints near favorite night clubs and bars. After stopping 300 or so autos they found only five or...

Best insurance companys in NC for Spyders?

State Farm I don't know why one reply could not get a quote from State Farm I cover my Spyder with them as it is cheaper to get multi-vehicle coverage. I checked a LOT of prices and found them to be similar for the exact same coverage. Advertising implies all kinds of things but realtiy is...

    XM RADIO RENEWAL SHOCK...

Get a better price by calling to cancel. I had the same experience last year. My original subscription was $77 on a promotion. When I called to cancel after the rate went to $140 the operator transferred me to a customer rep who renewed for another year at the $77 rate.

    Hand Brake Poll

If one suffers from a physical shortcoming preventing normal braking, a hand brake makes sense. With the addition of ABS a hand brake is redundant. Most drivers are comfortable with foot brakes via their automobile. Motorcycle riders have grown accustomed to using the front brake to ease...
