• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Front tire replacement schedule

Thank you for posting this and please excuse my ignorance. How do you read the wear bars? Do the triangles point to the tread wear bars and should I replace the tire when the wear bars are even with the top of the tread? Thanks Rod

Lane Positions and Riding the RT-S?

Amen on the road kill! Other than the occasional bloated groundhog the worst things I've had to deal with were a 3 foot rattlesnake and a family of skunks. I yielded for the latter, the snake was SOL.

    Continuous Weather Radar Display

Does anyone know of a way to display a weather radar picture that updates as your location changes? Something very much like a GPS display but with a weather overlay. I've tried several iPhone apps but all require you to touch the screen in order to update your location. Thanks --Rod

RF interference from USB power ports

Yep. Ferrite inductors have been a standard way of shielding for years.

Florida Service Stop - Dealer Recommendations

I'm planning a trip this June which will have me in Florida at the time my second (9,300 mi) service is due on the bike. It's also likely I will need a new rear tire by that point. I'd appreciate any recommendations you have for a quality dealer. It doesn't matter where in Florida as I'll be...

    The Long Ride

Upper 500s is the longest day I've ridden. I prefer to stay in the 400 range. On a long trip I try to get 'in shape' with a couple of 350 mile days before pushing for distance.

    Owner's Event 2015

Cody Wyoming would be a great location. Plenty of hotels. Great riding nearby including the Beartooth highway. Toss in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and you can't miss.

    Off Topic - Scooter Question

I have a 2008 Burgman 400. Bought it new. I've commuted on it since then with absolutely no problems. Love the bike. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    I just don't understand

I can understand where Dragonrider is coming from. I value the sound of the road and rarely listen to music on a trip. Still, we use the Sena for intercom when my wife is on the back. There are often long periods of silence (which I think we both appreciate) but it's good to be able to talk when...

    New 2014 rt Limited

Good to hear others have had this issue. We noticed the same smell at about 500 miles but it's long gone. Just had the 3000 mi service. The dealer checked the belt and all was good. I love this bike!

    SE6 or SM6?

Go with what you enjoy. I just traded in my 2011 SM 5 for a 2014 SE6. I absolutely loved the 2011. With only 260 miles on the new one, I absolutely love it too. It's hard to determine if my current stupid grin is generated from the change to the SE or to new the 1330cc/6 speed combo. It's not...

    New corbin seat installation

I had exactly the same issue this weekend with my new Corbin seat. I removed the pin also. I'm racking my brain to come up with a serious reason why this is a bad idea, but can't think of one. It just seems wrong.

    I-40

I don't know your timeline, but if you have a few extra days, then I'd suggest you ditch the interstate and travel US and state highways when you can. The interstate is built for speed, not for pleasure. From it, you'll see the same chain hotels and restaurants repeated every 60 miles or so. If...

    2013 Spyder

For next year I'm betting on a turbo charged, leaning, RS speed demon. Why? 1) The RS due for an update. 2) The VP who spoke at the owners event hinted at 'attracting new people to the community'. 3) I talked to a crotch rocket rider in Durango who said that a few weeks back, he was smoked by...
