• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Garmin NUVI 550

I use a Nuvi 550. It's taken us across the country. It has multiple modes, including a 'Scooter' mode which does an ok job routing you off the interstates on the fly. The icons are large enough that using gloves is no problem--at least for summer gloves. At first, I used batteries, but the...

Spyders on the Beartooth highway this afternoon. Durango bound?

We met 6 Spyders near the summit of the Beartooth pass in Montana this afternoon. We were one of the four RTs (3 White, 1 Red) headed east. Are you still in the area? We're headed to Durango but stopped in Cody to spend a few days ryding with friends. Anyway, it was quiet a rush to be in a...

Spyder RT 2011 - Fuel Gauge

I bought my RT in April '11. The gauge has never bounced excessively, but it's never been all that accurate either. Fortunately (or not) my bladder has a much smaller capacity, so frequent stops are required anyway.

Engine turn over with key removed

I've had a similar experience with a mechanic at the same dealer In Grove City. He told me it was normal to have to use my arm to pull the shift lever out of reverse, especially "when the bike is cold". Turns out, topping off the hydrolic fluid did the trick. This doesn't fill me with...

    Need advice from onwers

It's very much a personal call. After riding a Burgman scooter (totally auto) for a few years I just wanted to feel a shifter over my boot again. Next time, it might be the SE.

    Phantom 540 - Accident - Roll over

Thank you for sharing this. I've been slipping on ATGATT recently and your post has made me stop and think. Your vivid description brings home the fact that no matter how experienced we are, our control of the situation can vanish in a heartbeat.

Compare spyder with Honda goldwing trike

Something is wrong. My dealer was practically begging me to take a test ride. Move on until you find one you can relate to...it's worth the drive.

Which Riding do you Like Best?

I'm totally down with riding along the river. Nice and twisty. Plus there's nothing as refreshing as hitting a cool, thermal clime on a summer evening.

    Are You Serious!!??

I do the same as Y Rider and give them a price range. I figure they aren't trying to be rude, they just want to join our club. Last week, a five year old boy broke away from his mother and ran up to us. After mom said OK I put him in the front seat. His smile was worth every ignorant remark...

    Touring Advice for New Ryder

Thanks everyone. Great advice. We do intend to make this a "smell the roses" kind of road trip. My personal goal is to not lay a wheel on an interstate for the whole trip. Not likely but worth a shot.

    Touring Advice for New Ryder

Another newbie here (viper red RT-S, 2200 miles). First, thank you all. You've answered dozens of questions--most before I had sense enough to think of asking them. This forum's the best education a new owner could ask for. Now I need to learn about touring. In late September we are doing...
