• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Preorder experience anyone?

Sung to the tune of the old Oscar Meyer song: Oh, I wish I had my twenty eighteen Spyder, That is what I'd truly like to see ee ee, Cuz if I had my twenty eighteen Spyder, It might restore my love for BRP.

    Spyedrman Exhaust

Ditto with my 2015 RT-S. I want to hear my surroundings, plus I love the look on my biker friends' faces when I start her up and they just stand there staring, wondering when I'm going to turn the key and how I'm pulling away without power. I don't know if they're deaf from their bikes, deaf...

And don't forget Hell, MI, not far from me.

Had an Accident; Advice on New Spyder

Sandee, I'm SO sorry to hear about this!! I'm glad you survived and hope you'll be on new wheels by Spring, but I feel your pain in the meantime. My right lung has collapsed more than 100 times, and I've had a (failed) surgical pleurodesis, so I know the agony of damaging the parietal pleura's...

    Cargo stability problem solved!

Actually, Rivco's online ad (see my link in post #1) and their printed materials that come with the bracket state that the load limit is 12 pounds. The only 20 pound mention for the rack that I've seen was on youtube. So, regardless of what the trunk's limit is, the bracket itself isn't made...

    Cargo stability problem solved!

The trunk supports that worked for your Goldwing look like a great idea. If you think that your BRP dealer's mechanics have a good understanding of Spyder innards, maybe they could check out your setup and show you where the weakest and strongest areas of that trunk are before you install...

Guess when I used Premium vs Regular

I'm sure from a sales point of view, BRP would love to be able to boast that the Spyder can run on regular, but using fast burning gas in a high compression ration engine is flirting with engine knock as its flame-front across the cylinder creates an explosion point which can ultimately ruin...

    Are motorcycle gear manufacturers sexist?

I don't know about women's biker leathers, but the degradation of serious outdoor gear for serious outdoor women has been driving me nuts for years! I've spent my life working and playing outdoors in northern states. I don't give a rats rectum about how fashionable my parka or flannel-lined...

    Cargo stability problem solved!

The holes for the rack I bought are on the sides, and the plastic there is doubly thick and surprisingly hard to drill through. Plus, Rivco provides a metal stabilizer plate for each side which goes inside the trunk and sandwiches between the plastic and the nuts. Makes for a pretty solid base...

    Cargo stability problem solved!

Thanks for showing this. Eddie came up with a very clever solution to his problem, and I love that it's out of sight, but it's way too low for my needs.

    Sorry but another newb here.

On my 2015 RT-S SE6, I simply feel this as a gentle clunk as each downshift takes a fraction of a second to catch up with the freewheel. It's never given me the feeling of gaining speed. I only get a sensation of intermittent, strong engine-braking, the frequency of which depends on how...

    Sorry but another newb here.

Welcome to the group! So sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but I'm glad you're still riding. Don't rule out an RT-S as it may have all the bells and whistles you need. The Limiteds seem to simply be more setup for wiring in lots of communication doodads. The SE6 is wonderful. I'd go for it...

    Cargo stability problem solved!

Absolutely! Why drive the F250 when you can go to 4x the trouble and make your Spyder impersonate it! :D

    Cargo stability problem solved!

Does yours have the rubber bumper on the underside of the front piece? It's mentioned in the literature with mine, but it's not on the rack. I called Rivco as we were about to install, but they never called back, so we put our own super sticky backed piece of rubber on there. Once the rack is...

    Cargo stability problem solved!

Chupaca, I got to thinking about your recent suggestion on my "I stumped BRP" thread where I discussed needing a high horizontal tie-in to vertically secure my passenger seat cargo. You suggested a luggage rack. I said it'd just be in the way, but when I mentioned this to the guys at River...

Anyone know of a License Plate for a car/truck that has "SpyderLovers" on it?

You may have to make your own. Several of the custom plate sites let you upload your own image (check them out on amazon, e.g.), so I assume that could mean a photo of your own Spyder. Text would also be your own choice, of course. Might be fun.

Does This Concept Make Sense to You?

I only ride the back roads, but I've noticed something interesting ... and nice. I wear a white helmet, number one, which I consider more visible than black. And I have to tip my head a bit to look at my left rear view mirror because my little water bottle is a tiny bit in the way. I check...

Why can't BRP make Turn signal dash repeaters & switches that WORK!?

Apples and oranges. The K 1600 B is a two-wheeler (starting price, $23,545). The best comparison would probably be the HD Tri Glide which starts at $34,500, or their Freewheeler, which starts at $26,450. But both are delta configurations. Our tadpole configuration Spyders are far more...

lost 19 teeth from my drive belt

I second your praise of Honda East in Toledo. That's where I bought my Spyder for a super good price, and when we went to pick it up after delivery and assembly, they discovered the handlebar control module was bad, so they replaced it. Instead of letting us drive down there again a week...
