• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Pacemaker

Hang in there, Mick; early complications are common with these devices. A friend of mine, age 76, in great health, weight lifter, began having chest pains a few weeks ago but said nothing until he could barely climb the stairs one day. His wife rushed him to ER, heart was slowing to a...

    Craigslist caution

I've bought and sold many things thru CL with nary a problem, but I think certain types of items bring more risk than others. In my case, we can't meet off the farms because we're buying or selling large equipment or livestock. My buyers and sellers have always been the epitome of friendliness...

    2017 F3 or RT

I guess I'm the odd one out, here, but I can't stand the forward footing, torso leaning and stretch for the grips that the F3 causes me. I think the comparison has a lot to do with one's height. It seems the F3 causes shorties like me (5'2") to be folded up horizontally (think bobby pin), and...

    Spyder in pick up truck

Ahhh, okay! :) THAT'S the rest of the comment I needed from you. I've known from in here for a long time about turning off the DESS (even looked into the cost of the BUDS software), but when you answered me with just "not any more", I was confoozed. Don't DO that to an old...

How I spent my Winter vacation (videos)

FANTASTIC pic!! Great machine (and looks a lot like my 570). I do, however, teach my horses, motorcycles, tractors and ATVs not to rear up on me like that! :D

How I spent my Winter vacation (videos)

Glad you enjoyed it! I'm not a speedster anymore, so, no, I haven't opened her up. Right now, the roads are too slimy, anyway. Very squirrely (can't tell from the video). We're also illegal here in MI. Not supposed to be on any public road unless you're within a mile of an authorized area...

New rider intro, questions and comments

Welcome to our wonderful world! I, too, beeped instead of blinked at least 4 times before finally getting the feel of where my signal button was! And don't worry about cornering; it takes most of us quite awhile to get totally comfortable with that maneuver. As far as centering, I try to line...

How I spent my Winter vacation (videos)

They graded our gravel roads; unheard of in February! So, for the cabin-weary, here's a video of me taking a spin around the block and running our fields (second video) on my ATV. The original size of both is 720 x 406 pixels, so viewing any larger obviously reduces focus. I recommend...

    Spyder in pick up truck

Right, I'm aware of that stuff, which is why I'm trying to figure out jcthorne's "not any more" response to me. Maybe he's had his disabled? Kinda woulda liked a tad lengthier post. :D

    Spyder in pick up truck

I'm going to expose my ignorance here ..... is there a Spyder model that doesn't have a DESS? Or that won't have soon?

    What do you think?

There ya go!! Put those on my RT-S, please, Mr. BRP dealer. And please make them quick-change so I can keep my smoothies for pavement rydes.

    Spyder in pick up truck

'Cuz it also has a DESS.

    What do you think?

Those tires and better ground clearance on my RT would be just about right!!

    What do you think?

Oh yeah! That'll work just great on my pot-holed, slimey soupy, gravel roads! And look at all that storage capacity! Yup, runnin' the back roads and grocery shopping'll be just perfect on that thang! :roflblack:

    Spring is Coming!

Incredible here in southern MI, too! 70 and full sun, which we haven't had in months. I put a couple hours on the ATV yesterday, wishing like hell I could saddle up the Spyder, but our dirt roads out of here were still slithery soup. But, overnight, they dried juuuust enough for me to wake up...

    I want to ride

If I didn't have my ATV, I'd be going crazy, too. I park the two together in my horse barn, so I walk past them several times a day, and when I take off on the quad, I give the Spyder a reassuring pat that it'll be her in a couple months. I rode the quad for an hour yesterday, and 2 hours...

    STABLE MATS

I keep my Spyder in my horse barn which is totally floored in heavy duty stall mats. Best way to go.

    4 way stop

Here in MI, unless you have a police escort, like for an official biker group event, the whole herd can't cross together. Gotta take turns, one by one. Or, two by two if you're sharing a lane. The only exception that I know of is the requirement to allow everyone in a funeral procession to...

    Sorry for the snowbirds!

I'm with her! From horses to tools to machines, the more power, the better! :)
