• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Gotta be Truthful

:agree: At least with using the dream of it all to speed your recovery. Do what you feel is best but if the promise of getting back on the road motivates you, keeping the Spyder might just help.

    Charge cards

This whole issue was contentious between VISA, Mastercard and retailers. Retailers can indeed charge up to 4 percent more at their option. It is another way to increase profit margins by passing on the cost to the consumer. It is a mistake IMHO because studies clearly show that encouraging...

    Trailering Spyder to SPYDERFEST

We are closer than you are (Iowa) and we are trailering also. Similar issues for my wife so she will enjoy it more if she isn't in pain while there. We can only attend for a few days which is a real bummer but at least we can go. This is our first time as well. The main thing will be to...

    recommend an inexpensive Con-Carry handgun

I have the Taurus 380 and found it is very finnicky in terms of ammo. For some reason it hates Remmington but loves Winchester..... Best gun is one you WILL carry.....

    Antenna removal

I just had this issue. I tried a 7mm wrench and all it did was spread the open-end. Could not get closed end on it. What finally worked was a needle nosed vise grip on the nut and a regular vice grip on the metal sleeve just above the nut. Turned them together and it came loose. Like you I...

    BRP Forum Rep

There are issues as you have pointed :gaah:out but to compare this relatively new machine to a Gold Wing which was originally introduced in 1974 is a stretch for me. Likewise you really cannot compare the dealer network....it is still maturing as well. BRP is a relative youngster in the...

Who from Iowa is attending Spyderfest

That would be a lot of fun, but we are trailering down and can only attend for a few days. :( I applaud your intentions!

Has Anyone Had Sales Or Service Issues With Dealerships In Iowa,Minnesota & Wisconsin

:yikes:Jim, Ouch! I can understand your thinking and I am sorry to hear that. I'm no expert but I didn't thing a Wing would drop that much in value. Sounds like you have a good plan though. Stay connected here, someday you may yet ryde a Spyder!

Has Anyone Had Sales Or Service Issues With Dealerships In Iowa,Minnesota & Wisconsin

They call him Homey. He's a good guy. Please let me know if they still have the Spyder Do's and Do Nots from this forum hanging on the floor models. That makes for good business.

    Spyder's new partner

:agree: Some of the promo rings with some of the too good to be true elements we have seen before. I would like it to be legit but will sit back and see what develops. 5 star safety rating I HIGHLY doubt....

    Octane Reqirements

Good point, I forgot that Kwik Star is more prevalent there and indeed have the better octane stuff. I do avoid ethanol though, it may be OK but there are some aspects to ethanol fuel that make me wary. Depending on how you ride, 30-35 mpg is about the best I see. I don't know if much changed...
