• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Codes ? Are there any warning lights on ( oil etc) ? Have you read your manual to know how to pull any codes off the computer ? I would start there and do a battery test as well

Good choice You will love your machine , give it a few Rydes to settle in as they are unique . You can likely start right away too which I am a little envious about ... Enjoy!

    Advice

No big deal? Noticed that most posts mention bikes lane splitting at high rates of speed ... How dangerous it can be etc , but it's just put off as a normal thing ? I've seen forums and articles pushing for "filtering" to be allowed here in Ontario and other places in the U.S as well claiming...

    Insurance

A bit higher $1,000,000.00 seems to be pretty basic here in Canada , I can remember when my agent told me it was going to that from 500,000 I thought it seemed excessive especially when you consider if someone gets injured ( in Ontario for sure) Everyone has health coverage .... So why the big...

    After Purchase Purchases

Yep :agree::agree:Get to know what prices are other places ... If they have a good deal there after looking around go for it . Swap meets and bike shows can yield some great savings as well , also as Chupaca mentioned vendors here are easy to deal with

    Why we crash......

Yes interesting Among motorcycle people the common knowledge ( opinion) has always been that most accidents were caused by cars . Even during the Spyder course I took , the instructors spent a lot of time talking about the danger of cars rear ending motorcycles and entering your lane on...

    No Mechanics 4 Spyders

Good and bad As in all purchases there are inferior dealerships and service departments. The dealership I bought mine off in Toronto ( Snow City ) have been great every time I go there either for service or just to see what's new etc ... 30 miles away at Bennett Power Sports they actually...

    Noob overthinking it' I'm sure

Give it time Many options mentioned here for sure . I decided to go the least money route with a 2008 GS ( that had 4000 Kms on it ) and as a couple Ryders said I initially figured I may have made a $12,000 mistake , especially coming home in heavy traffic in Toronto. It took a few Rydes and...

Yep :agree:Exactly, from my view I am doing the same as you .... I enjoy the info that helps me enjoy my Spyder more but I'm not interested in head butting as entertainment or opinions on controversial non Spyder issues , still check the SL site every few days because it can be very informative

    SM6 vs SE6

I thought so My only experience in comparison is my 2008 GS SM5 against a 2013 RSS SE . The semi auto was one I drove for a Spyder course I took ( insurance break) for 1 day basically, and I found that it did not have nearly as much pull as my GS . Many on here say there should be no difference...

Best websites to look for a used Spyder?

I agree with Kijiji :agree: Since it is free to advertise on it there are lots of ads to see , and not far over the border from Syracuse
