• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 RT Scoops on 2014 RT

With the amount of money that I spend on must-have farkles (just ask my wife, lol!), I would never question someone wanting the scoops for the looks. Just didn't know if there was some other reason, since my 14 RT has zero heat issues.

2013 RT Scoops on 2014 RT

I don't completely understand this thread. What would be the point in installing the scoops designed to remedy the 13 heat issues on a 14? Seems to me that it would be purely aesthetics. What am I missing?

    Limited or Special?

If possible, I would test drive both of them in a variety of conditions. It seems that several people with the shorter windshield complained about excessive wind buffeting at speed. If you are a taller rider, then I would think that the shorter windshield would be less advantageous. Both...

    Breeze on the knees

Agree 100% I installed the BRP deflectors over the past weekend on my RT and I completely agree with your assessment. The deflectors provide a significant amount of airflow in both of the open positions. In the middle position, I feel the air along my sides and in the fully opened position it...

    Best way to tie down.

For the one time I trailered my Spyder, I used the method illustrated in the manual (pg 157 in mine). I passed the straps through the wheels. Others have indicated that this may scratch the rims if done repeatedly. Lamont (site sponsor) recently reviewed a Spyder specific solution that seemed...

    Should I Get a Spyder??

You have already received good advice. I would add that regardless of whether it is required or not by your State that you absolutely take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Rider Course. The course will teach, and train, you to safely operate a motorcycle along with providing fundamentals...

Same exact issue just happened with our Spyder. Searching the archives led me straight to this thread. Love this forum!

    BUGS

I usually wipe down down the Spyder after (almost) every ryde. I find that the bugs come off quicker when removed sooner. My routine includes the use a soft cloth and either Lucas Slick Mist or water in a misting bottle for a quick wipe down. It only takes a few minutes (5-10 min) and for me...

    Can-Am in Household Goods Shipment?

I agree with the others. While in the service, I moved a lot between duty stations (18 times during 28 years)! If at all possible, I would tow the spyder to your new location. Even if they handle it with white gloves during pick up, you will never know how it is treated at the warehouse or...

    Sm vs. Se

Are you saying that the SE6 requires no shifting? Have you ever ridden one?

    2012 vs 2014 RRS

:agree: Given the limited information provided and not knowing your financial situation, I think I would opt for the low mileage 2012 at the reduced price point. Make sure a dealer has checked the VIN for completion of any recalls.

    1000 miles now have questions.

While the stiffer sway bar helped reduce sway of the frame due to centrifugal forces during the turn, the single most dramatic improvement in my Spyder's handling occurred after having a laser alignment performed. Prior to the alignment, I felt like the bike and I struggled to find the "right"...

    Southern il dealers

If you are willing to travel just alittle bit further south, Pitbull Powersports, a site sponsor, has an excellent reputation. They have a link on the home page!

    40 days

Congratulations on your first month of ownership! It sounds like you are well on your way to personalizing your ryde to fit your needs. Happy farkling! If you have not had it laser aligned yet, I would recommend that you get it done. For me it made a significant difference in handling and...

    Vee Rubber

I enjoy these tire threads when people offer their personal experience with a particular tire like many have done here. However, there are one or two people that seem to continuously imply that if you don't go with their brand then somehow you are being foolish or wasting your money. I don't...

    I pick it up tomorrow!

Congratulations on your purchase! Take your time ryding home and you will quickly get the feel for the Spyder. BTW, I love the color scheme!

How do you lock the ignition?

Correct, You have to turn the handle bars all the way to the left or right. Then turn the key without pushing the key in and remove. This will lock the glove box (RT model). I also recommend Lamonster's IPS (in Plain Sight) key holder. I often leave the key in the ignition covered by the...
