• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Got Code PO174 - any ideas on what to do?

When my 2011 RTS threw that code, it was a defective vacuum fitting on the TB. Might want to have a look depending on age and mileage. Patrick

    @#%! Limp Mode

TB=Throttlebody The Throttlebody is where the fuel injectors live and admits air into the engine as well. It is the beginning of the feedback loop between the ECM and the drive by wire throttle control at the LH grip. ECM being the engine management computer. It is an expensive chunk and...

Throttle cables? Tech started on the aforementioned problems and reported that the throttle cable(s) were "banjo tight" preventing, I suppose, the TPS thing from reading what what's going on. Apparently, there is an electromechanical link at the end of the throttle wire and an ETA Electrical...

Yeah, that code thingy Yeah Bob that's how I knew the TPS whanger had lost touch. Last time it was coincident with a TB failure and resultant gnashing of teeth and drain of disposable income. (I guess that's why they call it disposable) I used MySpyder to decode since I was parked anyway, the...

Having gone almost 2 years without a hiccup (after a costly TB replacement) Here we are again with P1120 and P2620 TPS codes. Parked at the shop right now until they open in the a.m. Okay, end of rant. Aside from that had a great riding day... Patrick

9005 socket One 9005 socket later, and Pyder is binocular. To Finless, that's why I questioned whether self induced, or bad crimp from day one and took this long in the heat to fry it. Either way, going to take a long look at the RH side as well. And just to vent; those #$%&* mirrors. Thanks...

9robot I wonder if that what the print is really saying? Or my thinking is backwards. From the print, it looks like R6 feeds both from the same common point. Oh, and it's not always the bulb. On a personal note, I'n no longer in the C.O., I was surplused a year ago and and now an FT in cable...

Before I look Before I break out my manual, do really mean to say that the headlights are individually fused or have a relay for each side? If that is so, I will search this out and let one and all know what happens next. Patrick

    Calling Spyder gurus

The Spyder in question is a 2011 RTS that has developed an annoying habit of losing the LH headlight. Bulb has been replaced with everything from OEM to generic to Silverstar. Most times it's not the bulb. Oh, I replace the RH side at the same time but it never fails like the left. Now for the...

    Harbor freight Lift

IMHO Yes, you do get what you pay for. After said HF lift keeled over on me with 07 Goldwing aboard I came to the conclusion that you would have to be out of your rabbit ass mind to even consider placing anything much heavier that a bicycle on any HF product. Just an opinion based on...

    Gerbings hook up?

What I did I wired ours to the bolt under the seat meant for jump starting (I guess) The ground was hooked to a frame contact bolt nearby. Thinking of Going Heated Gear

Heated for us Just finished our SaddleSore 2000 this morning and between our Gerbing jacket liners and heated insoles cold was never an issue. Used ATV muffs on both the front and passenger grips and I must say that it was the best the heated grips ever performed. Now it's true that we were...

    SS2000

Yes on the route Yes, I-95 to I-10/I-12 . Taking I-26 to I-95 and proceeding from there is not only a familiar road that we like, but adds up to just about 1,022 miles one way. Making a stop in Slidell LA for rest, so that puts day 2 at only about 755 miles. Thanks for the best wishes, more...
