• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Thinking of making a trade

Thanks for the heads up on the F3. I will be weighing my ST in the next couple days and see where I can go from here. Are the F3s generally heavier or lighter than the RTs when comparably dressed?

    Thinking of making a trade

OK, I've got to do some thinking. I also need to get ours weighed. Real weight not what specs say. Our lift is near its max weight and so I have to keep that in mind also. All these details. And Just as I expected, our local dealer is NOT interested in my ST as a trade. Guess I can't...

    Thinking of making a trade

Thanks for the input. I had kind of "shelved" the idea of the F3 models as I was told none of them have a Cruise control. A must for me. I use it all the time. We have air hawks currently and swear by (not at) them. As we only day trip between 100 to 200 miles max, the cured the seat...

    Thinking of making a trade

I can see that the arm rests add a lot of stability. They did on our wing. Does anyone know if arm rests are available for the ST? That and a new Ultimate seat with back rests would pretty well fix the problem. We still basically love the bike since we did the suspension.

    Thinking of making a trade

We are currently riding a '13 STL with 43K miles. The "we" is important here as the primary reason we are thinking of making a trade is that my wife has trouble staying planted in the saddle if I "zip" at all around curves. With the Baja Ron sway bar and Stage 2 Elka suspension all around, it...

    Needing a Ultimate seat

OK, I am interested but would like more info. It looks like from your picture that the stock passenger grab bars remain in place. Am I seeing this correct? Why are you interested in going back to a stock seat? Don't you find the Ultimate seat comfortable? Next question: Do you ride mostly...

    Needing a Ultimate seat

So I have been informed that the stock seat with Airhawks is no longer getting the job done. From my past experience, my rear end has never been happy on a Corbin seat so the Ultimate seems like the way to go. Does any of you out there have a decent Ultimate seat with both driver and passenger...

    I'm thinking about new shocks

What we purchased was the full Monte. Shock and spring complete. As a matter of fact, when we ordered them through the dealer, we filled out a rather complete questionnaire about our weights, riding style and one vs two up styles and percentages. They came pretty well preset for us. After...

    I'm thinking about new shocks

We have a '13 STL and added the Bajaron sway bar '14. Really helped in turns but the thing was obviously WAY undersprung. Being as cheap as I am, we put off doing anything until '17 at Spyderfest we bought a new set of Elka Stage 2, front and back. Way expensive but let me tell you on the...

Seeking Advice From Spyder Ryding Snowbirds

Find some other snowbirds with RVs that stay in the area where you are looking at. Many times there are trailers for rent in the same RV parks where they stay or they can steer you to someone that they know who won't be going south for a winter. Usually much cheaper than an apartment.

Seeking Advice From Spyder Ryding Snowbirds

Hi Newbert We are fulltime RVers who just travel. Here is my 2 cents after living on the road for 7 years. Florida would be close to you and is a friendly riding state with reasonable traffic in the interior of the state. The coastline is a nightmare. The riding is about as interesting as...

    Shift Shudder

My 2013 has pretty much done the same thing on first start up IF I don't give it a fairly long warm up. Never seems to reoccur during the rest of the ride. I haven't been able to attribute it to lower than ideal oil levels. My view is that is the nature of the beast with cold oil. I have...

What Shock setting do you use??

Thanks Sledmaster for this post. We also have Elka stage 2s on our '13ST. The OEM shocks were non-adjustable and pieces of crap from the start. I love the Elkas. I will have to have a friend measure our ride height as we are almost always 2 up. Now at least I will have a target to adjust...

    Headlight bulbs in the ST-S

Have replaced the headlight bulbs in my '13 ST several times. Always make sure the wife is NOT home. Have it down to an hour now. Think about that. One hour to replace a headlight bulb. I agree with nwrider, but that ain't gonna happen.

    Sena 20s

Can't speak to the 20s but we bought a set of 10s in 2012 and they are now just getting to where they won't go a full day. We can get about 6 hours before the sound of death. They still charge up overnight.

Elka stage 2 in for repair

Yes, I was and am disappointment at a high dollar shock springing a leak in only 6 months of paved road use. I know Elka is not considered a player in the moto world but lets face it, these things we ride are pretty much a snowmobile with wheels. As I had the other front shock still on the...

998cc Elec Power available on ST-S for heated gear?

Wow, here I am sliding in on a thread and picking up some knowledge. My wife and I have some older Gerbing jacket liners left over from the Gold Wing days. We have never tried to use them for all the reasons mentioned above. I guess I better see what the wattage is and re-think the...

Elka stage 2 in for repair

Got the shock back last Friday. Gone almost a month. Got it on Saturday and took a 50 miler just "break it in". Perfect. I admit I was getting a little hostile toward the end with them having it so long, but Elka hit them with a surprise. If I am to believe Ted at Roll design, (their...
