• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Slight Clutch Drag

I understand your point but comparing the SE to an automatic transmission is not really a good analogy because it uses a clutch and manual transmission just like an Manual. The wet clutch is probably closer to a torque converter. I had failed to realize that it was a wet clutch. A slight...

    Steering column play--How much?

Steering Play I just went out and measured my 2015 RT. Very rough measurement was 3/16" to 1/4". No concern for me. I had never noticed it at all previously, but I have read on this site of several having to have steering component replacement. That put a question in my mind regarding...

    Slight Clutch Drag

Thank You Both I am not used to a wet clutch. The reason it was of concern was that I would have my hands completely of the grips and it was doing it. A wet clutch make perfect sense that it would creep.

    Slight Clutch Drag

I have a 2015 RtSe. When I come to a full stop such as at a stoplight, my RT has a very slight forward creep. Of course it is in 1st gear. The idle speed moves between 800 and 900 RPM. This occurs on level ground or even with a very slight incline. Is this a common situation or do I need to...

    F3's are like unicorms

Yeh, I hate that cold weather too. I remember well the day we had it last year here in Florida. Got way down in the 40's. LOL

    MEMORIES

Recently my 22 year old grand daughter visited my wife and I here in Central Florida. She had never had a ride on a motorcycle of any type, so I gave her, her first motorcycle ride on my Spyder Rt. While out, we got caught in one of our central Florida heavy rainstorms. As we were on...

    Alignment results.

BajaRon, I do not disagree with you. While I was not aware that the engine was the starting datum, my only point was that both SpyderAnn and MartinRedCoates statements were not in conflict. One referencing wheel position in reference to datum and the other referencing alignment tool position...

    Alignment results.

I have done many alignments of different types of equipment. Martin Red Coates statement makes total sense. He is stating the condition his trike was found in, in relation to the datum, which should be the frame or more correctly the chassis. SpyderAnn your statement is providing the method...

    Too tall for RT???

Pain When I began riding my RTs I also experienced terrible back, neck and shoulder pain. I am 78 years old and 6' tall. I was 6'3" but due to age and herniated discs have shrunk. What has helped me is something I learned from a motorcycle cop, when I was in my teens. Relax! He rode all...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not know if this is correct or not, but I was told that if two chipped keys for different products, such as my Toyota and my Spyder are stored together, it can cause them to mess up the coding on each other. I was told that this information came from an auto manufacturer. I was not told...

New to me GS wont start....

Trouble Shooting I am a retired tech rep for gas turbines and related equipment. While I felt very competent with the equipment I was responsible for, this post showed me how specialized our Spyders are. GSjock, the names of the trouble shooting tools you were using are totally unfamiliar to...

    Tire vibration

Front end shaking. From the day I picked up my 2015 RTS I had front wheel shake. I took it back to Central Florida Power Sports where I had purchased it. They put me on a loaner and went to work. It turned out I had several problems, but the main problem causing the shake was that the belts...

    Hot Handlebars

Bob, I believe that you have probably hit on the correct answer. Yesterday I rode with it down to a cool 80 degrees. Much less heat. There in no problem with it burning me. I don't hold the key nor the covers while riding. I was simply concerned about the heat doing damage. I have owned or...

    Hot Handlebars

I appreciate your reply, but it is not a problem of burning my hands. I am an old rider both in motorcycle experience and age. Although I do not always practice your recommendation, I do not disagree with it. My concern is that there is electrical wiring inside those covers. What I am...

    Hot Handlebars

I have a 2015RTS. When I ride the handle bar covers as well as the key get very hot. The outside ambient temp varies between 80degrees F and the high 90s, The variation in ambient temp does not seem to affect the handlebar temp. No the hand grip heat is not on, but the covers and key feel as...

What is the Average Age of Spyder Owners? - 2nd Edition

AGE, In one week I will turn 78. I quit riding two wheels quite a few years ago after roughly 45 years of riding. Yep, I began at a very young age. About 12 years old, on a home made motor bike. Three months ago I purchased a 2015 RTS. It is my plan to skew the age older two years from...

    Traction control disable feature

WHAT? Stand on the pegs, raise the CG a great amount and then break the rear wheel loose. I have had road rash in the past. Think I'll pass on this one.

    Handling Issue

I would not argue with those findings. Actually we could take alignment further as we had to with rotating equipment. The out put pulley on the transmission should be in correct alignment with the rear wheel sprocket. This failure could account for the drive belt moving. For the drive belt...

    Handling Issue

Very likely you need a fresh alignment. The rear wheel was removed when the rear tire was installed. Unless it was replaced in exactly the same position as it was in prior to removal, your alignment has changed. Alignment is simply the relationship of the rear wheel to the frame (chassis) and...
