• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Those Damn Grommets.

Precisely. I cannot speak to the panels without this hook. Are those the ones with the Velcro tabs? When dealing with the type with the hook, the panel will eventually blow off if the hook is not engaged regardless or not if the grommets are still in place. This is because the hook will push...

    2 issues

If the noise when braking is a "clicking" sound then it is normal. There is a rev limiter when in reverse...you do not need any throttle when using reverse, however. Operate in the friction zone. Chris :spyder:

    Need help in curves!

Straigten the arm that is on the outside of the turn. Don't lock that arm straight...only a slight bend at the elbow. The steering will fight the direction of your turn...wanting to return to center somwhat. Make minor corrections in your turn by simply adjusting your body position. All of my...

    Lost panel? New RT..Carlos Help

I would not do this too much. You will stress that front clip, and I am sure your warning that it broke will be when you notice your panel missing. For what it's worth.... Chris :spyder:

2 up riding, what to expect.

I ask my wife to lean with me...just look over my shoulder as I lean when cornering. Other than that, anticipate longer stopping distances. I really cannot tell that she is back there...unlike any two wheeler I have had passengers on. Do not cancel cruise control without bringing up the throttle...

    Glove Box insert????

Got some detailed pictures of this. It turns out that they did just what I recommended above! Well, the felt liner appears to be sprayed in...probably much cleaner looking that adhering felt material in. I'll post the pictures later when I have a bit more time. Chris :spyder:

Question for Scotty...RPMs/MPH/Gear = fuel usage

Not arguing that one bit... Just that weight is not a factor when calculating aerodynamic drag. Chris :spyder:

Got my wife on the RT for the first time!

If you are not using any sort of comm, you may want to try using it. I find that it helps my wife when I can tell her what I am about to do. She cannot see directly in front of the bike...all she sees is my helmet when she looks straight ahead. I let her know when curves are coming up, stops...

    Glove Box insert????

I'll get a picture of it. Just grab a block of foam from a hobby store and cut the exterior of it to shape, then route out the inside leaving about 3/8" for wall thickness. Finally, adhere some felt to it with 3M contact cement. With the insert in place, I can put my iPhone, pack of cigs...

Question for Scotty...RPMs/MPH/Gear = fuel usage

Fairly certain that weight has nothing to do with aerodynamic drag. Chris :spyder:

I have not seen this. I washed mine this weekend and I was fairly aggressive with the hose. Chris :spyder:

Question for Scotty...RPMs/MPH/Gear = fuel usage

Think of it like gears on a bicycle. It is about the use of energy to maintain the current rate of speed or accelerate from a given speed to a given speed. Fuel is the combustion source for the engine to produce energy. For example...if you are in a low gear trying to reach and/or maintain 15...

Looking into the future of the RT

You should get more efficient with it each time you do it. The panel arrangement on this bike from a maintenance stand point is fairy good in my opinion. Chris :spyder:
