• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are Fred & Cherrie Rau here?

Do Fred and Cherrie frequent this forum?? If so, what "handle" do they go by?? Just sold my '02 Goldwing after 13 years, and moved into a 2014 RT-S.

Do not ride on gravel roads?

I have to ride 3 1/2 miles of dirt road each time I leave the house just to get to the paved roads. I had the same question, but since there is no choice in the matter, I just take it a bit slower and watch where I go.

    J&M Audio?

Can't compare J&M to anyone else, but I've used their products for over 12 years. I've had their headsets and microphones installed in various helmets for use with my Honda Goldwing. I've had great luck with them. Their quality is top notch. As an aside, John Lazzeroni (the "J" in J&M) is an...

    CB / Intercom

I've got the passenger intercom to work, but it's intermittent. I lowered the squelch level to the bottom indicator, and I get no "receive hiss" nor do I get the receive indicator on the screen. I believe it should read "RX". I do get the "TX" when I push the PTT switch, but like I said, it's...

    CB / Intercom

I just had my BRP dealer install a CB, passenger PTT cord and the entertainment harness on my 2014 RT-s. I have 2 Nolan helmets with J&M headset/mics in them, from when I had my GL 1800 Goldwing. Knowing that the cords wouldn't fit, I ordered two lower cords from J&M that fit the Spyder. Just...

    for new website

Is it Practical?? IMHO...absolutely not. Yes, it can carry groceries, but not a lot, and groceries tend to be heavy, so the first thought that comes to mind is that they would probably overload the weight limits on the saddlebags and trunk. And there's not that much room to carry a week's worth...

    Radio interference from LED lights

LED's are sensitive to the electrical output of automotive electrical systems. They need a capacitor inline to compensate and the result would be a relatively static free audio. Sometimes at idle, the LED's will flicker and as the rpm's increase, the flicker will not be noticed. However, the...

    Looking for Ideas

Bob....That was my original thought, but was wondering if the opening and closing of the trunk lid would eventually damage the antenna lead. But if it's lasted that long for you, then I guess that's the easiest way. I don't have an I Phone, or a cell phone at all, so that other option isn't...

    Fred & Cherrie Rau

Newbee..been looking for two years. Bought today.

A driver's backrest is the first accessory that I purchased. It's a necessity for me. They run around $430 at the dealer, so I checked EBay and found a brand new, in the box Can-Am backrest for the great price of $340. So before going to the dealer, check EBay. There are plenty of authorized...

    Looking for Ideas

I'm going to set up a portable XM radio on my RT-S. My plan is to get some Velcro and tape it to the small shelf in the rear trunk between the 12V outlet and the audio outlet. My dilemma (sort of), is routing the small antenna lead out and around the weatherproof gasket without destroying it's...

    PTT Switch

The PTT switch is used for the CB (optional), and the rider's headset will plug into the panel with the parking brake, fog lights and suspension adjustment. The headset outlet is installed when the CB is installed.

Hey Blueknight 9111....No, I don't know any telephone guys up here. All my time working for N.E. Tel/Bell Atlantic/Nynex/Verizon was in Rhode Island. I moved up here when I retired. I saw an email from you, but I thought it was spam, so I deleted it without reading it. If need be, you can...

Just sold my '02 Goldwing last Thursday morning, and by 5pm that same day, I had a new ride. I picked up '14 RT S "demo" at the shop. Been riding motorcycles for about 44 years now, but this is my first time for 3 wheels. I'm pretty sure that this forum will answer most questions that I'll...
