• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Question

I find it easy to just lift up the seat and clip on the alligator clips. A 30 second hook-up. Don't need to purchase any additional adapters.

It was in the "Welcome" packet they sent me 2 months after I bought my Spyder.

    I phone 4

I have an iPhone 4. I don't use Tapatalk because you have to pay for it. I just go directly to the Spyderlovers website and sign in. Same way for my iPad.

    12V Source

I have a 2012 RT. if the wires are there for an optional 12v outlet in the Frunk, how difficult an installation is that? Does it require major Tupperware removal? I would love to have an outlet up front, but am not into major mechanical mods. Thanks, Bernie

    Welcome Pack

Two or three who received the pack have mentioned registering on the BRP web site. I registered and got the pack. Maybe registering is required.

I visited their new Lodi store when I was in Ohio in October. Great people with a super store. Too bad my Spyder and I are 700 miles away.

    Buzz

At first I thought it was at 5100 RPM in 3rd gear, but then I noticed it at around 75 mph, but I don't know the rpm's. I'll need to get more data. Im not sure I'm mechanically adept enough to check the belt tension and alignment. Looks like a trip to the dealer is in order. By the way... On...

    Buzz

At certain higher speeds, I get a "buzz" as I accelerate or decelerate. I was thinking it might be the belt fluttering. Anyone have any thoughts about this? Thanks, Bernie

    garmin zuma 660 mount

I installed the Kewl Metal Gizmo mount with a Ram ball mounted to it. This gives me options to mount my GPS or my iPhone, or anything else. There is a thread here somewhere showing how to do the Gizmo Mount. I run my Garmin off its battery, so I can't help with the wiring. Bernie

    RETIRED WITH HARLEY FATBOY

Cer, I recently traded my Road Glide that I had for 8 years for an RTS SE5. I loved the Road Glide, but wouldn't trade back. My wife was not comfortable on the Road Glide, but likes riding on the Spyder. As far as an RT vs an ST, if 2-up and longer trips, I don't think you can beat the RT. if...

    Cornering Tips for a Newbie

Lots of good advice given already. For the first few hundred miles and at every tight corner, I questioned my judgement on trading my 2-wheeler for the Spyder. But with each passing mile I got more comfortable. Ask me today and I'll tell you that I wouldn't trade back. So follow the advice given...

Just a HEADS UP bit of info.

I have a Sirius radio that I move back and forth from my truck to my Spyder RT. I have a spare antenna and 12V power cord, so I just move the radio module. I put the Sirius radio in the trunk. The RTS comes with a cord that plugs into the Sirius radio output and into the round receptacle in the...

Reba, Saw you were from Ohio. I live in South Carolina but bought my RTS in northern Ohio in October. I was a Harley rider for years. My wife would never ride on my Harley, but likes riding on my Spyder. The folks here on this forum are great. You will love your Spyder and you will have many...

    Sooo tempted

I think the most critical issue is whether you will predominantly ride 2-up multi-day touring, or mostly single riding or short 2-up trips. If you are going to do serious multi-day 2-up touring with the new ST, then a trailer may be necessary. The RT is already set up for touring.

little lessons learned along the way...

It's good that your staying within what is comfortable for you and not pushing to where you are not in control. Your level of comfort ability will continue to increase with time and experience.

THE LIGHTEST COMBINATION SPYDER HAULER CAMPER ON THE PLANET

Blueknight911, Check out this web site: www.haulandstore.com This looks similar to what you are going to build. Their unit only weighs around 225 pounds. They also have different sizes and heights. Don't know anything about them; just happen to run across them when I was looking for...
