• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

We'll be having a second night of killing frost overnight tonight, but we're still getting highs in the 50/low 60's. Good news is, that means less bugs to clean up! :)

I'm going a different route on my next set of front tires - trying these IOTA EVT (Standard's) instead!

Yup. The tires do have "This side out" on their sidewalls. One wheel took .5oz, the other took 1.5oz. This is due to one of my PPA wheels being a bit heavier (per my local installer). One PPA wheel always takes a touch more balancing weights, whether the tires are Vredestein or Achilles or Kanines.

I'm going a different route on my next set of front tires - trying these IOTA EVT (Standard's) instead!

UTQG 320AA with a wet traction A rating. They're designed with a softer compound due to the instant TQ that an electric vehicle can put to the ground. If used on a car, they'd likely have a short(er) tread life, but on the front of a Spyder that won't be a concern. They still have a load rating...

Can anyone tell me about the BEST Warranty? Any advice re it and this suspension fault?

Generally, if you have an existing problem that hasn't been corrected in warranty, the dealership should still honor repair efforts if the OEM warranty recently lapsed while still an issue.

Can the Grill & Radiator be Painted? What paint is best?

I was pondering powder coating mine but decided against it. Black would really show all the bug hits and stainless steel hides them pretty good.

What is the best GPS mount for the F3 & a Zumo XT2

My plastic ball plate on my Lamonster bounced around quite a bit with my Zumo XT2. This plate will work much better, as it is aluminum/steel thread ball and not plastic...

Does a first service/oil change at 500 miles sound "normal" for a 2024 RTL

The price is normal, but not the interval. You do not need to change your oil/filter until close to the 3K mile mark. Break in oil is a myth. Your Spyder has the same partial syn 5w40 oil that they sell with the kit. Newer kits seem to come with 5w40 full synthetic. When the time comes for your...

I'm going a different route on my next set of front tires - trying these IOTA EVT (Standard's) instead!

I just ordered an oil based Black Jumbo Sharpie from my local Walmart. I'll give that a try as you did. :)

I tried that. Looks translucent but I'll try a large heavy duty permanent marker from Amazon.

Some pix/info on $20 ebay handguards

I had a chance to try out the handguards in some brisk 45° temps. They did take a noticeable amount of wind off my fingers. Not as much as my larger past ones, but noticeable. I did remove the rubber washer, as the guards moved a bit at higher speeds (don't over tighten!!) Instead, I put a layer...

I'm going a different route on my next set of front tires - trying these IOTA EVT (Standard's) instead!

I got the tires mounted/balanced yesterday and I put them on today. They spin freely, as I expected, because they are OEM 165/55R15 size. I did shim the fenders prior while trying to fit the 165/60 Vredesteins (PIA!) I'll likely remove the shims at some point to center the fender to OEM. The PPA...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Went on a 125 mile lunch run with some buddies. Started out around 45°, but got up into the low 60°s. Beautiful day! :)

Kenda tires - I truly don't understand the hateful responses to Kenda tires. I have over 22,000 km on mine and they're only 50% worn.

Actually, he never even put it on to try! And .. We never heard back from him again! Did he ever decide to put it on? But I guess I should have specified front tires.

I know I'm a broken record, but if you have never driven a Spyder with a car tire up front, you certainly have no idea what you're missing in regards to ride and handling. Many may be certainly happy and satisfied with OEM/Kanines, but car tires are truly a noticeable improvement. I have not...

I'm going a different route on my next set of front tires - trying these IOTA EVT (Standard's) instead!

The tires came today. I will be getting them mounted/balanced on Monday and scuffing them in next week. They are all season and fresh. Glad to find a car tire in OEM size. - - Hopefully they work as well as my Achilles Economist tires, and a $128 well spent. :)

Here's my new F3 - The Green Hornet!
