• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any tips on what to look for when doing my New Spyder's inspection?

Have the dealer set the front ride height on the suspension, this means that you, a passenger and your expected luggage should be on the bike when the measurements are taken. They can then crank up the preload on the front shocks to the Can Am spec so that the front end steers the way it was...

How Much Do You Use Wide Open Throttle?

WOT=acceleration=exhilaration, have to pull a couple of gears at WOT every ride to see if the Spyder is alive and well and the driver is alert. Not in traffic, only on the highway when it is safer to do so.

What is your opinion on the plastic oil pump gears?

I haven't owned my Spyder long enough to have any history on the nylon gears but I do know that they were used by GM in some of the car engines (cam shaft sprocket - metal hub with a nylon running surface) to provide for a quieter running timing chain. Yes they did wear but I didn't experience...

2022 Ryker Rally - Rattle in Drive Shaft/Under Seat at Low RPM/Speed - any ideas?

I doubt that it being lent to a "training school" on a closed course would have any adverse effect. The cause of the rattle should be evident as others have stated once they take the belt cover off. The CVT is a pretty basic system consisting of a primary spring and governor cup with levers...

Review: Alberta Lithium LiFePo4 LFP 20L-BS battery - failed at 1 month?!

I didn't have to, as the OEM was replaced under warranty late last fall. The LiFePo4 have a much lower discharge rate from my research and prefers to be stored at less than full charge, so you probably wouldn't want/need to put it on a charger when you are down south. The battery would only be...

Looking for opinions on when to do the first oil change?

I did my new 22 F3S first service at about 2000 miles and was reminded by the dealer service writer several times that it was not required until later. It was last October and I wanted some fresh oil and filter, OEM battery warranty etc. before storing for the winter. I agree that the first oil...

Review: Alberta Lithium LiFePo4 LFP 20L-BS battery - failed at 1 month?!

22 F3S Open the frunk, remove the 4 push pins (one at each corner), remove the trim piece that covers the latch by pulling up at each corner to pull out the pins from the rubber grommets, pull towards the front and set aside, lift up the basket and carefully position it towards the right side...

Is a replacement Lithium Battery the way to go? How have you installed yours?

You can trim the top bracket so that it drops down and secures the battery or you can use some small styrofoam spacers cut to size one on each side and pressed down into place. The top bracket does hold the battery pretty well but if lateral movement is a concern the styrofoam will help...

Driving Practice, or Attempted Murder by Spyder?

Maybe, just maybe there was toooo much instruction going on? Has she been a licensed vehicle driver for years or is she just learning to drive? My suggestion is the same as the others, find and let her enroll in a good 3 wheel driving school than stand back and let them provide the...

    Oil analysis @ 3 years & 9500 miles.

Thanks for posting the analysis, it is difficult to read but the comments in the upper part is where they talk about the oxidation number and not the TBN (total base number) which usually indicates how much protection against acid formation the used oil still retains. It might be helpful to ask...

    I need more storage space

I have removed the two up seat and footrests but have left the hand holds and shad brackets on in case I go for a several day ride. The hand hold brackets can be used for lashing something down over the rear seat cowl with a bungee cord if necessary. Less is more in most cases.

Half Man Half Amazing - F3s on the limit

IMO: Anyone who plays on the highway when there is traffic is going to come to a sudden unplanned stop because you can't predict what other drivers will do. The total disregard for the other drivers being passed rather recklessly is unacceptable. Enjoy your ride for as long as you can.

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

I hope the EV Spyders are a long time coming and I won't own one, but the debate will switch to what size charger should I be using and what is the better battery and there are always tires and oil!

    Oil analysis @ 3 years & 9500 miles.

If the oil only had 200 miles on it when you tested it and it showed oxidation at 37 I would tend to question the accuracy of that test? If the oil had 9000m on it when tested and it was changed then, your fresh oil should be fine, but you may want to try a test earlier (say, 4500m?) to see if...

Anyone using these Antigravity ReStart Lithium Ion Batteries? Opinions?

I was searching the internet for local suppliers and came across this one: https://www.ablithium.ca/product/13-2v-13-2ah-700cca-lifepo4-starter-battery-utvs-boats/ its rated at 12ah but has a 700cca which is twice that of the oem battery. They also list a 8ah that has 420cca and is quite a bit...

Total Loss of Engine Power at 65 MPH on Busy Freeway, All My Fault! Kill Switch...

I've owned my F3S for about 9 months now and use the kill switch to stop the engine so I am very aware of its location and other than using cruise control I don't multitask when driving the F3S. We started mountain sledding in 1996; my first sled was a Summit with a 670 engine. It didn't take...

New 2023 F3-S solo, but has foot pegs - what options to make it 2-up?

I purchased my 22 F3S last June, it had the 2nd seat on it and I got the lockable storage replacement handed to me after the sale as it was included with the bike. That is why your bike already had the passenger foot pegs. I would inquire about the seat which is probably sitting at the...

Checking ride height for all riders on new or new to them Spyders

Thanks for the replies, I just wanted to post what a difference the adjustment to ride height did for other folks that may be experiencing a wandering Spyder like I did. I have a Baja Ron sway bar, better in the corners but not in a straight line. I will check the alignment PMK but right now it...

Possible BATTERY issue and/or unexplained electrical, electronic Gremlin

Your battery is probably covered under warranty but get get it load checked asap. Mine was made in China and would flash a VSS code at every start even after putting a charger on it. It was replaced by another made in China. After charging it before starting this spring it appears to be fine...
