• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Picked up my Rally today.......question

I don't have a Ryker, but as others have pointed out this sounds like a typical behavior of a CVT transmission. My son bought a 2018 Toyota Corolla with CVT and it has some of the same behavior. Everytime I drive a car with CVT I spend my first 15 minutes asking myself...is this normal?

Anyone else got a Pool of Water in the Frunk? Any fixes?

The last couple times I've washed with soap and water my RT (mostly using sponge and no pressure hose), I've found water in the front trunk. I'm not talking moist but along the lines of a bucket of water. Is this just a problem with my 2017 RT or is this a common problem? Any solution? Given...

    80 MPH Sustained

Thanks for the replies. My personal comfort level is 70 MPH but my wife is an 80+ MPH gal pushing the limits whether she's driving or a passenger. Needless to say, I'll be doing 80 MPH this summer.

    80 MPH Sustained

This summer I'll be heading across South Dakota on a 6 hour trip. The speed limit on I-90 in South Dakota is 80 MPH. Assuming a typical summer day with temperatures ranging from 80F to 90F and keeping my speed at 80 MPH except for pit-stops...the Spyder (engine wise) should be just fine, right...

    Electric Spyders on the way

I know HD's LiveWire produces an artificial sound so you don't sneak up the critters whether that be four paws or four wheels.

    Electric Spyders on the way

Yes, I think I'd need to make sure I have the capacity to go some miles before I'd relax enough due to range anxiety. Although, one would think the Spyder due to it's size would have a much better range than the current two-wheeler electrics being produced by Zero, HD, and Lightning.

    Electric Spyders on the way

Electric Vehicles are inevitable so it would be nice to see Can-Am go this direction (there is nothing on the technology side that would prevent them from making a model). What would excite me most is that a Spyder EV should be a lot less maintenance with TCO likely lower than current Spyders...

The new Rykers are selling well

Good news for those that haven't heard, the new Rykers by Can-Am are selling well. While I own a Spyder and not a Ryker...it's good to see that when a good price point is offered for a three-wheeler the people will buy. The rest of the article can be read here.

What is your definition of "warm enough to ride"?

Some of you wrote that you won't ride when their is salt on the road. Are you concerned about salt on the road for fear of rust/corrosion, lack of traction, or both?

What is your definition of "warm enough to ride"?

I missed out riding in January and February due to snow cover and ice. Hopefully by second half of March I'll get to go for a ride.

What is your definition of "warm enough to ride"?

Don't blame South Dakota...it's all North Dakota's fault! :doorag:

What is your definition of "warm enough to ride"?

Yep, I think for this season we hit a low of -28F. I agree with the rest of the your post regarding the heat can be just as bad. However, after this winter...I don't think I'll ever complain about the heat this summer!

What is your definition of "warm enough to ride"?

We hit a record low of -17F this morning here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I haven't been able to ride since mid-December when we had afternoon temperatures near 50F. I was just curious what are people's minimal temperature they'll ride? I learned my lessons in the past and have found...

    What to buy???? F3T or F3Limited ????????

You mentioned traveling to Alaska and it looks like you live in Canada. Living with a longer cold season the one thing I couldn't do without is heated grips which are included in the Limited F3 and Limited RT. If you opt for the F3-T, I'd ask your dealer how much more for them to install the...

What was wrong with the way it was?

I used to maintain a web forum for a local but higher-end fish tackle and bait shop. If you think Spyder owners can't tolerate change...well you haven't seen anything until fisherman go through a software upgrade. :gaah: It was probably the most successful and popular forum for fishing for my...

What was wrong with the way it was?

Anthony, thanks for all your hard work. I think detailed explanations are good (IT is my day job). The bottom line people that still may not understand...if Anthony didn't spend time NOW to upgrade to the new software, SpyderLovers.com likely would have gone bye bye in 2019. The software...

    2018 RT AUDIO SYSTEM SUCKS!!!

It's a good point that you make about protecting your ears. But for the most part, I don't find the wind noise and definitely the noise from the engine/pipes all that loud on my RT. I'm finding that I really don't have to crank my stereo much louder at 70 MPH than I do at 20 MPH. Yes, there are...

    IS IT JUST ME?

Personally, I like the changes I'm seeing. There are always new unexpected behavior changes in software updates but one you get to know them...all is good. For instance, the "What's New" isn't broken but has been broken into two new sections: 1) what's been updated since you last visited and 2)...

    New Ryker 900 review

That was a fun video. My wife and I were leaning toward an F3 for our second three-wheeler, but now the Ryker is a possibility. If maintenance cost and maintenance time on the Ryker does indeed prove to be less than a Spyder...I'm inclined to go with the Ryker for a second vehicle.
