• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Doing a Fuel injector replacement - what are these brass bits for?

Well the bike had 6,000 miles when i bought it last year, and just off idle it would surge bad at times and now and then a dead miss or stumble. I did the canister removal and blocked off the vacuum line to the canister, but left the purge valve hooked up to the power connector, but no hoses...

Doing a Fuel injector replacement - what are these brass bits for?

Guess when you own this old of Spyder, there is no 998cc mechanics that can enlighten me as what exactly those screws do and WHY would they even need replaced?

Doing a Fuel injector replacement - what are these brass bits for?

I'm wondering if this is what these screws do. Can't image why you would replace the screws when replacing the injectors Throttle bodies are precisely synchronized at the factory. Replacement throttle bodies do not require synchronization to a specific engine. NOTE: Under normal conditions, the...

Doing a Fuel injector replacement - what are these brass bits for?

here is a picture of the left injector housing and the two brass units are screwed into it. I assume they will stay in when removed but have no clue what they do. The black arrows show the 3 small bolts that hold the injector housing in place

So I have the 2 injectors, one is pictured; in the other picture is the kit for the installation, which includes new gaskets, screws, Banjo bolt with washers; but what are the 2 brass threaded items with the o rings for? It shows they screw into the unit on the left side that holds the injector...

Does the ECU need re-mapping after cat-delete?

Not to high jack this thread, But I bought a used ecu from the same year as my spyder. And was going to have it flashed Stage 1, the service manual says you are supposed to use the buds software any time the ecu is pulled, is that true.

Is it possible to delete start up routine?

Not on my 2013 St. That one reason I just purchased a used ECU on ebay and will have it flashed with a stage 1 from https://wick-itperformance.com/shop-products/ols/products/monster-fuel-injection-can-am-spyder

The oil plug - Murphy showed up today.

I personally would never use the suction method on anything, unless you want the crap to collect in the bottom of the pan. I bought my Chevy Blazer that was used, first time I changed the oil, I removed the drain plug and nothing came out, not even a drop. :hun: I stuck a screw driver in the...

Gravel and Minimum Maintenance Roads in SE MN

I used to ride my Yamaha Raider on gravel roads it was belt drive never had a problem, and now today I rode 8 miles on gravel no problem, so for me I ain't worrying about the gravel. If the Spyder is that delicate then it has no business being on the road.
