• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Which Battery tender works best - OptiMate 3 or the Battery Tender Junior?

I've used this one, from Amazon, for quite a few years. Battery Tender 4 AMP Battery Charger and Maintainer - Automotive Switchable 12V or 6V Smart Automatic for Cars SUVs and Trucks - Lead Acid, AGM, Gel, & Lithium Battery Charger - 022-0209-BT-WH Yes, I know it's 4 amps maximum and Yuasa...

    Question for mecsw500

I think the trouble is, from a constraint of trade perspective, is that nobody makes a tire in the defined size with the correct weight rating to be in the 20/28 psi range, or thereabouts. Can Am decided that 165 and 225 were about the right widths for the Spyder which seems feasible. From the...

    Question for mecsw500

BRP dealers here locally are very reluctant to install car tires on the fronts or rears of Spyder’s. This I respect as that’s their choice of liability and risk over customer desires. They are very upfront about this. They are very good for servicing so it is what it is I’m afraid. Out here in...

Your Weather News @ July 2026 Edition

Hot and dry, teasing us with around 100°F for the next two weeks. No rain in the forecast over that period. Not many clouds expected either. Summer's here. Time to ride in the mountains, it'll be at least 20°F cooler up there.

Any useful comments or suggestions to help reduce back pain while riding 2023 F3-T - Short Reach Handlebars maybe?

The thing with bar risers is that they rise a certain amount but only along the same line as the steering head. Therefore, most risers, if they go up 3 inches they only bring the bars back perhaps an inch, or less, closer. They'll make your back more upright, but you'll need short bars or...

Anyone else had an Oil Leakage Issue like this? - UPDATE

The UV dye should help them find exactly where it is coming from. Porous cases are possible, but gasket interface leaks are much more common on modern die cast engines.

Any Modification recommendations from those who tour on their Spyders?

Did it tweak the suspension at all? Are you going to get an alignment done? That's a lot of force to split a car tire sidewall on such a light vehicle.

    Question for mecsw500

Not on mine. I’ve ridden several Spyder’s with car tires though over the past 6 years. I did over a month on a loaner one so I got a good feel for them, I think. I was definitely thinking about going the car tire route after that experience, but I traded the bike instead. For the original Kenda...

Any Suggestions for new Riding Footwear?

Many years ago, back in England we had regular Derri Boots, or Motorcycle Derri Boots. They were both 100% waterproof, indefinitely. It never got too hot so breathability wasn’t an issue. I preferred the regular Derri boots which looked a bit like what your Granny might wear, but they were very...

Question about the 4 PSI rule for tire inflation

OK, back to the rule of 4 psi. I’ve only ever been able to come close to the 4 psi rule on the track. The increase in pressure is often down to what tire type, what spring rate and compression, static sag, and rebound damping I’m using to keep optimal grip. Track temperature and surface type...

Question about the 4 PSI rule for tire inflation

So far my XPS branded Kendas fitted to my 2026 S2S have been a significant improvement over the original Kendas. They seem to have a better sidewall so they are a better match to the shocks and don't give that soft collapsing feeling in the twisty bits that makes the initial compression in the...

How do you control Rabbits (without shooting)?

There must be some solution as my personal experience of Australia is that half the wildlife is out there to kill you. Naked yodelling? How long was it before they let you out on bail after that? ;) That sounds risky too, one slip and those little buggers have sharp teeth. Do flamethrowers...

Just When You Think You've Seen It All...

You shouldn’t feel guilty. You have to charge a fair price within the prevailing economy otherwise you’ll eventually go out of business or be unable to pay your employees a living wage. You are charging people for your expertise and like any other accomplished business that’s earned over many...

2018 RT Ltd won't shift up - could it be LH Switch/Control module? Anyone else? Other possibilities?

But for the right price it might not matter too much and just get the latest you can find. In the real world, not every unit failed, in fact the vast majority didn’t, even in the problematic years. Get it cheap enough any year other than 2018/2019 might be worth a punt.

How do you control Rabbits (without shooting)?

Out here we use the special 3M reflective film on windows to reduce sunlight heating effects. Makes quite a bit of difference. Our AC ran continuously during the day but with the films it cut our electricity bill quite a bit. It doesn’t obscure the view much at all. To the rear of the house...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I’m one of them there immigrants that gets confused with states that begin with the letter “I”. At least I knew the state began with an “I”. I like the digital clock idea.😀 My wife keeps a wall calendar with events I need to know and makes sure that I do what I’m supposed to be doing. I still...

    Goodbye

I thought the transition was pretty seamless myself. I’d hate to have to taken on such a task myself. Running any of these types of sites is far from a trivial workload. Asking your question is entirely valid, but your opening statement was in my opinion totally uncalled for. I think an...

How do you control Rabbits (without shooting)?

I used these at my last house to keep skunks away. It worked for skunks. They say it works well for rabbits too. My cats used to sit at the windows at night and wait for the lights to go off and illuminate the wildlife. You might need more than they say for each square meter. Skunks did not like...

Your Weather News @ June Edition 2026

Utah fire count up to 300. Major blazes still not under control. Still have highways closed. Steady climb back to triple digits by the end of next week. No rain in the forecast. Going to get worse before it gets better I’m afraid. Not much better in Western Colorado.

Just When You Think You've Seen It All...

How could people not know they’ve worn through the entire pad and the backing plate and started grinding away the disk with the caliper piston? It must have felt terrible under the pedal and made an horrendous noise. Whether using the OEM or EBC pads wouldn’t matter, ignoring the sounds would...
