• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I think I failed. Like I told them, I knew it was Tuesday because yesterday was Monday as I was going to show up then. I’m retired, what do I care what day it is? I passed the clock as I have only ever had analogue manual wind watches. I got one of the words right. Repeating numbers backwards...

Confusing info in the users guide - am I missing something, or what?

I find when in French speaking Canada my British Channel Islander French is so awful folks switch to English rather than hear me butcher their language so badly. I try to respect the local language but I see the frustration in their eyes. Same happens in Belgium and Switzerland too. In France...

Do you have a vegetable garden &/or grow any Fruit trees? What time & effort do you put into it, and what do you grow?

Do solar powered ultrasonic defenses work? Or Astro turf, artificial grass? A moat? A pet salty? I think it’s about time to go nuclear and bugger the council and its by-laws.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Ah. That might take little longer for me, I’m bipolar and as mad as a bucket of spiders, whilst going senile!

2018 RT Ltd won't shift up - could it be LH Switch/Control module? Anyone else? Other possibilities?

Did you try: ? Beware, the little ball bearings can easily go for a walk.

Do you have a vegetable garden &/or grow any Fruit trees? What time & effort do you put into it, and what do you grow?

Nothing much grows here. Tried vegetable gardens at our previous house. but it was pretty feeble and took too much precious water. Natural soil here is a mix of sand and salt desert. Topsoil has to be imported and everything watered every day. Given over to desert plants. Bit of communal grass...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Got up bright and early for my annual physical, bright eyed and bushy tailed ready for an 8:30 am Monday appointment. Bugger, the appointment is Tuesday, I got up early for nothing. I fasted for nothing, and have to do it again for tomorrow. I'm getting senile.

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

I’m so sorry. We thought you were out of the woods with this thing. An alternate source for plug leads might be Ton’ Performance at tonsperformance.com. I believe they make a custom set for Can Am Spyder’s with the 998 motor. They seem to know what they are doing from their website.

Before planning trips, check on the Fires in Utah!

Fires are still burning, especially the Iron, Cherry, Wild Goose, and Cottonwood fires. The Cottonwood fire is approaching 100,000 acres. Total fires are at 300,000 acres and climbing fast. The Cherry fire is worrying as Highway 153 is closed and Toole Army Depot is just to the North, which...

Any Modification recommendations from those who tour on their Spyders?

Two hard sided bags for the side panniers. Small one contains all my stuff. Large one contains my wife's stuff. Top case bag contains all my wife's stuff. Frunk contains waterproofs, bag with all our USB cables and chargers. Remaining space, a bag containing the rest of my wife's stuff. Are...

Getting a Vibration through the seat - anyone offer a seat cushion to offset? Any tips/hints?

There's basically two different versions of the Laverda triple in Jota tune. The earlier ones had a 180 degree crank, two pistons up whilst one piston is down with basically a balance weight which simulated another piston to balance like a four cylinder. They vibrated a lot. The engine can best...

2018 RT Ltd won't shift up - could it be LH Switch/Control module? Anyone else? Other possibilities?

It's possible they are known to be intermittent or even just plain fail sometimes. Before you replace it, give the contacts a good blast with electrical contact cleaner. I knew those things were expensive, I hope that includes labor.

Before planning trips, check on the Fires in Utah!

That's a shame. We have a great state to visit, but better it was in the shop at home rather than in the middle of nowhere in Southern Utah. Perhaps next year when half the state isn't on fire.

Before planning trips, check on the Fires in Utah!

There seems to be a variety of reasons for wildfires in Utah. One leading man-made cause appears to be campfires in authorized or unauthorized camping locations, or off road vehicles at this time of year. Of course, visitors to the State may be as unaware as locals about the fire risk whilst...

2025 Spyder Sea 2 Sky - Where is the Dedicated GPS Power Plug-in?

No, it's USB-A running USB 2.0 with 2.1 power specification. I doubt the data rate is even anything like the theoretical 2.0 data rate for that matter.

28k Service - I must rant about my experience

Do you think the relatively high cost of Spyder’s, due to their limited production levels has a measurable effect on dealers treating then as a sideline due to relatively low sales volumes? I bought a new 2026 Sea to Sky this year and the MSRP was $34,000. I noticed the even more specialized...

Before planning trips, check on the Fires in Utah!

Before planning trips in Utah check the fire conditions before planning camping, camp fires, and deciding to take roads that are closed due to fires. Go to wfca.com and move the map to Utah. Fire risk is currently extreme in most places so please be careful if camping. Humidity is currently...
