• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    If not riding more than 500 to 1000 miles before storage, I would ride it, change the oil, and then store it. Probably no big deal if you change it now, ride 500 miles and store it ( no need to change again in the spring). What you want to avoid is storing with dirty, contaminated oil.

    They always let you pump your own gas in motorcycle. Cars, gas cans - you have to leave to the experts. Funny story on trip to WV a couple years ago. I stopped to fill up the bike near Harrisburg , PA. Was a young lady at pump across from mine who got out of her Golf and she started fiddling...

    For me, I don't mind the looks but would not like the riding position. Not comfortable with the weight concentrated on the tail bone and legs out in front. I actually think it looks pretty good though.

    I have ridden bikes for forty years. Engines all have some smells and motorcycles more so with their open engines. I have never had motorcycle that smells of gasoline as strongly as my wife's Spyder after a ride. Not even close.... not any where near close. The smell fills my two car garage and...

    Agree completely. This is continued rubbing of the belt on something else that is stationary. A rock lodged in the belt would not look like this... and especially along the full length of the belt.

    In fairness, I understand your viewpoint living in Minnesota, but many areas can ride year-round. Even in NJ, I ride year round many years ( though not this past winter).

    My biggest concern is after a ride as well....I let it sit in the driveway. I have an attached garage and house fire could result in more danger than just the ting burning at the side of the road.

    we still have the smell too when parked hot. Think just a function of the gas boiling in the tank....
