• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OEM F3 muffler for 2008 GS SE5??? Does it fit? Sound? More Performance?

I just got rid of my Hindle. Those rattling heat shields were driving me crazy. I replaced it with this. https://www.partzilla.com/product/aftermarket/8BX3-VOODOO-VPESPYK8B Sounds awesome and it seems the bike breathes a bit better.

Its time for a belt change too so I will definitely check those splines. Thanks for the reply.

Will a bad Gearbox Position Sensor cause a Spyder to run rough?

Thanks for the reply. Without being long-winded, I did everything you mentioned above. The bike was ridden all this summer with those symptoms showing up sporadically. After doing some Google searches, i think it may be the Mass Airflow Sensor or maybe cracked vacuum line connected to it. I...

Will a bad Gearbox Position Sensor cause a Spyder to run rough?

Greetings all, Will a bad gearbox position sensor cause a Spyder to run rough? I know mine needs to be replaced as the gear indicator constantly jumps around. But I have a lot of sputtering and sometimes a check engine light. I have even had the bike shut off mid-ride. I can replace the...

    Canister-Ectomy - on 2008-2016 SM5/SE5 V-Twin motor Spyders

All good posts. I think the procedure is basically set with a variance or two. I put my fuel filter between Hose #24 and a hose that was already routed underneath the Spyder vs the fuel filter at the end of #24. its all zip tied to the frame and away from the engine. I am sure it will work...

    Evap Cansiter

I placed a fuel filter between the line and routed it underneath the bike. So far there is no fuel smell after riding and the Spyder runs much smoother.

    Evap Cansiter

Good day folks, I finally got around to removing the evap canister on my 08 GS, which I have owned since 2011. I know, late to the game on that front. But now that its gone and the Spyder is running much better now, can I finally fill the gas tank all the way? I haven't had to fill up since...

    Recommended age of tires

I would change them out. The tires on my 08 GS are the originals. They look great, nice deep treads...but they do not grip...not even on the driest road. They only have about 4000 miles on them. Also, since I was in and out of the country for the past 5 years, the Spyder was in the garage...

New tires..and whats up with the brakes?

Ahh..see, thats my issue probably. I did not buy EBC brakes. I bought these...https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CQBZ6X2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I think I will just save myself the headache and get the EBCs.

New tires..and whats up with the brakes?

I understand what you are saying...getting the pads out of the caliper is no problem. Its putting those clips on the new pads that is an issue. The tabs are a hair longer than the OEM pads...thats what I plan on grinding just a tad. Thanks for your input...always appreciated.

New tires..and whats up with the brakes?

Rcvd my tires today for my Spyder. its been a long time coming since my Spyder has been garaged for the past 4 years or so. I did get it out last summer, but near the end of the summer, I did not feel safe on the tires. Ok..they are the originals from 08, so they probably werent safe anyway...

    2008 Spyder - H7 Halogen Bulbs

LED headlights Since we are on the topic of headlights....these are the ones I will try to fit in my 08 GS. http://www.vleds.com/shop-products/led-headlights/high-beam/micro-h7.html They are essentially a high beam bulb, but with the shutters on the Spyder set at lowbeam, they should be fine...

Shoutout to all Southern Marylanders !

She is alive. Hello there, it took an oil change, new battery, plugs and wires and a soon to happen good wash to get the Spyder back on the road. I feel a tire upgrade coming on soon as I still have the stock Kendas. I have had it out a few times checking to see if all is well and so far no...

    2008 GS SM5

Back on the road I just want to say thanks to everyone that gave some great tips and instructions while working to get my Spyder road worthy again. New battery, plugs and wires, purged and filled the clutch, oil change, and fresh coolant. Basically a tune up, but it did wonders. Prior to all...

Anyone used an Oil change pump thru dip-stick?

Hello everyone, Have any of you ever tried or currently use an oil change pump to assist in changing the oil in your Spyder? I am looking at purchasing this or similar: https://www.amazon.com/Attwood-quart-High-Speed-Change/dp/B00EVIO7YM I know I will still have to change out the oil filter and...
