• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Insurance renewal rescinded (Australia)

Today, I was informed by my insurer - Australia’s largest - that they will not be renewing the insurance policy for my '17 RTL. As mentioned in a separate discussion, I spoke with a friend who is a lawyer at another major insurer. She mentioned that concerns such as parts availability, the...

Anyone removed the rear Top box/pannier assembly (Aust up to 2018 RT models) is the t/light plug the same as the trailer plug?

If you have, do you happen to know if the plug you disconnect that supplies power to the tail lights etc is the same plug where BRP has us insert the trailer module? Background When I bought the towbar in 2019 it came with the BRP Relay. To install I needed to separate a plug under the seat...

Had to wear Gloves for Can Am riding course - Do you wear gloves? Why? Or why not?

I just prefer having that protection if someone decides they want my bit of road and I end up on it.. Like anything that requires PPE, feels odd at first but you get used to it. I am an ATGATT

Are Straight wound springs going to be better than Progressive rate springs?

Hi Merlot, I'd say no. I have the same rear shock as you and the aim for my set was a comfortable ride and better handling. I have them on all corners The part of the variable spring that is "wider spaced" (at the top) is designed to soak up the little bumps while you are moving along, and...

After some Guidance on how to route wiring in my example?

A few years ago, I added a set of driving lights to my RTL, then later a trailer bypass relay and some cameras. Overall, the setup works great, but there are two issues I haven’t been able to fully solve: The messy “rats nest” where all the project wiring converges at the ground/fuse...

How Long did BRP take to contact you after your Spyder purchase, if at all??

They didn't, until I lodged a complaint with our consumer protection agency. They had promised a few things with the BRP offer at the time, and thought they didn't have to honour it. I was quite surprised, having just paid cash for their (at the time) flagship product.

Looking for ideas - where to mount a Bypass relay for trailer supply other than where BRP would have us put it??

A recent 4000KM trip had a few 39/40 deg C days, and they seem to have cooked my bypass relay for the trailer supply. It progressively got worse, intermittently losing functionality in odd ways, and eventually some functions ceased to work altogether, so I am looking for a cooler but dry spot...

Is it necessary to disconnect/purge the auto levelling system when fitting an a/mkt shock?

No. When I installed mine I left all as is. I have the compression dampening control on mine too. The self levelling works just fine, the only issue is when I want to raise the rear while mobile and via the controls, it goes into fault mode because the air bag compressor is working against the...

Just ordered a Wilbers 640 rear shock! :)

You will not regret the choice Troop. I have Wilbers on all 3 corners and they are fantastic - great ride, much better handling, better antidive under brakes, and for me negated the need for a sway bar.

Grease all over the back of my RTL, and I'm thinking, "Where from... ??"

Thanks to all. Yes the more I look its way too much for a linkage or wheel bearing. The qty certainly hasnt increased on day 4 having observed it when we stopped for a break on the Hume Hwy on day 2. It is officially a problem trip, on top of the initial list: Garmin Zumo 595 LM GPS has...

Grease all over the back of my RTL, and I'm thinking, "Where from... ??"

Thanks Peter, I do suspect I have run over a dollop or two on the Snowy Mountains or Hume highway somewhere, and its in chunks on the places it has landed. It doesn't seem to have increased in any way so its either run out or it was a "pickup" on the way. As for the run of luck - I'm adopting...

Grease all over the back of my RTL, and I'm thinking, "Where from... ??"

My wife and I are on a 2 week trip and while at a pit stop yesterday, I noticed grease splattered on the rear of the top box, rear guard, and trailer. It seems to be a fair qty and I think its too much to be from something having failed on the RTL. The only places I can think of are the Swing...

Does anyone have the dimensions for the Strut bush - 2017 RT Top Box?

While trying to improve the water sealing of my top box, I dropped the top bush for the strut into that cavity under the seat where all things disappear. Does anyone have the dimensions?

What is your experience with the INNOVV N1 Dashcam?

I bought their TPMS kit for 3 wheelers. The phone app was terrible (I am an IT Contractor) and wasn't impressed with the tech support at all - I felt the owner of Innov was being given the run around by the App developers. I had been giving serious consideration to buying their cameras but...

Anyone come across a Source for an Aftermarket Indicator BAU15S Socket to suit 2012-2019 RT's and RT622 Trailers?

I have a troublesome Right indicator socket that intermittently stops working on my 2011 RT 622 trailer. There are several off the shelf items available, but something in me says BRP would not make it that simple to just use a standard BAU15S Socket. I am also assuming I have to buy a half...
