• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    The physics of bugs

How do you handle different tire pressure readings?

Balancing air pressure. I have made up a simple balancing rig for my front tyres. A length of plastic tubing with a tyre valve chuck at each end with a "T" piece in the middle. The other end of the "T" has another length of tube fitted with a tyre valve in so when I add air both tyres go to the...

What was BRP Thinking on the 2022 models and placement of the brake pedal?

Short legs. I replaced my 2016 RT for a new 2021 S2S, the deal was done over email as the dealer is over 180 miles away. When I went to collect the bike I was not able to get on due to short legs and bad hips even though I had no trouble in the 5 years I had the RT. The solution was to make up...

Which side is the hex, which side the torx Oil change plugs?

I am doing the first oil/filter change on my S2S. Due to problems with bending, I am getting a friend to remove the oil drain plugs, he is a qualified motor tech. Just so I hand him the correct tools, when sitting on the bike which side is the hex. and which side is the torxs head. I will be...

Is it feasible to fit an easier Direction Indicator switch?

Clarification. Maybe I didn't make it clear in my initial post. The problem with the switch is that my thumb is immobile, so I have to take my hand off the grip to operate the switch with one of my fingers, which I do not consider safe in traffic and as you all know this is the worst indicator...

4 plastic screws on panel around saddle bags won't come out! Ideas?

The only way I could easily remove mine was to to use a small drill bit to drill down the center of the screw, then screw in a long self tapping screw or wood screw, only about 3 or 4 mm, the plastic is very soft, and just pull the screw out. Replace the plastic screw with a suitable size...

Is it feasible to fit an easier Direction Indicator switch?

Thanks Thanks to everyone for the inputs. The last time I worked in the motor trade "Can" was a food container and "Bus" was a mass transport vehicle. So what BertRemington was suggesting I think was my new switch with my new wires running to all the indicators as separate circuits, replacing...

Is it feasible to fit an easier Direction Indicator switch?

2021 S2S. Here's a question for our electrical geniuses. Due to the ongoing problems with my left hand I'm finding it harder and harder to operate the direction switch. Would it be feasible to break into the harness and fit an easier to operate switch, looks of the mod. are of no consequence so...

Opinions on un-weighting front suspension during Winter storage?

For storing my Spyder over winter I use my Big Blue lift. I know it is an expensive option but I purchased it originally for my Gold Wing and it can be configured for a large variety of bikes, and is ideal for working on the Spyder as it is very safe. Also I read that certain parts of the USA...

I read something I found a little strange on a news app.

There are quite a few deals like this going on over here at the moment. Maybe Switzerland is "selling" shells to a third party who give them to the Ukraine. I believe Poland was going to give its US fighter aircraft to the Ukraine if the US replaced Poland's aircraft, but that fell through.

Fused supply. Thanks for the replies. 5A fuse was blown and after replacement the polarity was checked and was reversed ie. black wire was positive. Power to sat nav now live. Thanks, Alan.

2021 RT - Where is the keyed power supply? Is it fused?

On the 2020 RT up there is a keyed power supply under the R/H front side panels as per LaMonster vid. I tried to take a feed up to my new sat nav. This feed appears to be dead, even with the key on. Is this feed fused and if so where is it located. Thanks. Alan.

Will a K&N Air filter for 2016 RT fit my 2021 Sea 2 Sky?

I purchased a K&N air filter for my 2016RT, a CM-1314, but never got around to fitting it. I now have a 2021 Sea 2 Sky, will this air filter fit my new bike. Thanks, Alan.

My wife hates my new helmet :(

Couldn't the manufacturers think of the name of an American bomber for the helmet. Why name it after a British fighter aircraft, the Spitfire.

Has anyone disassembled the 2020 RT fairing(?) to get behind dash?

    Lamont's new belt tensioner

Spring. This damper looks to be using the same type spring as fitted to Doc Humphries unit. This spring was very prone to snapping at the very tight bend at the fixed end. Doc came out with a modified spring which has lasted for 35000 miles on my RT.
