• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Know of any 'slip-on' Seat Covers for RT's?

Sounds great! I'll check the Bass Pro Shop website. Thanks!

Know of any 'slip-on' Seat Covers for RT's?

The seat on my 2012 RT SE5 is structurally sound, but the "pleather" has cracked, ripped and looks terrible. I have a lambskin cover that I put over the seat when I ride, but it can't be allowed to get wet. I can't afford a whole new seat (and don't need one...just the surface material). I...

Grumbling Noise When Coming to a Stop

Could be the front sprocket. I don't have a home-shop or the required tools, so had to take it to the dealer. Turned out to be the front sprocket. They replaced it, and the noise went away completely. You may be able to check the condition of the sprocket yourself. Some of the posts above...

Where Are Battery Posts on 2012 RT?

I'm thankful for the blessing! I can't even begin to determine why it started easily after refusing to start with the associated issues. I will do that long ride once the weather allows. Maybe a nice ride along the Outer Banks and lunch at the Black Pelican... :doorag: I try to be careful...

Where Are Battery Posts on 2012 RT?

Good point. I'll check my tender and see if it can detect the difference.

Where Are Battery Posts on 2012 RT?

THE UNBELIEVABLE HAS HAPPENED! My Spyder STARTED with no issues at all! After replacing the two large relays yesterday, I tried starting it, and got nothing. This afternoon, I went out to do try some small relay swapping for fault isolation, but figured I'd try to start the bike before...

Where Are Battery Posts on 2012 RT?

Great info! Thank You! I replaced the two large relays (left and right sides) in the frunk fuse case, and when I tried the key in start position, the needles came back to normal position, and the center gauge came on. Still no start. I'm going to try your suggestion with the smaller black...

Where Are Battery Posts on 2012 RT?

I checked all the fuses, both in the frunk and under the seat. I pulled each one, examined it, and reseated it firmly. All were okay, and none were burned out. I also pulled relays in the frunk, one by one, and reseated them. I couldn't see any issues with them, but don't know how to test them...

Where Are Battery Posts on 2012 RT?

When I put in the key and turned it to the start position, the needles spun from bottom to top, and stayed there. The center display didn't light up at all. Normally, the needles spin up to top, then return to bottom, and the center display lights up. The needles didn't move at all when I tried...

Where Are Battery Posts on 2012 RT?

After unsuccessful efforts to jump start my RT, I think I have either a completely DEAD AS A DOORNAIL battery, or a bad fuse somewhere along the line. With the jumper cables hooked up (with the truck engine off), and the key in the Spyder and turned to start position, there was absolutely no...

Where Are Battery Posts on 2012 RT?

Good suggestion. I'll give that a try tomorrow. I have some long and thick jumper cables that will reach. I tried jumping it today with a Halo device, 12V, 600 amps, and got nothing. I did notice that the MPH gauge and tach were "stuck" at the 12 o'clock position, and didn't move at all when I...

Where Are Battery Posts on 2012 RT?

Thanks! I've located the positive port with the long nut, and can clamp the positive cable to that while I clamp the negative cable to the frame or some heavy metal. Yes, I'm at home (thank God!), and it's in the hi 20's, so I'll wait until tomorrow to try a jump start. LOL

Thanks for trying, but the images didn't come through. Would you try again? Thanks!

Where Are Battery Posts on 2012 RT?

I need to jump start my 2012 RT SE5, but the picture in the user's manual does not point out where the battery posts really are! Can someone post a pic, or give me a specific location of the positive battery post? The 2012 RT battery is under the seat, not in the frunk like the 2013's. I can...

Any way to adjust the seat release?

On my 2012 RT, I used a "wire wrap" to go thru the mechanism, and along side the cable, then draped the edge outside the closed seat. If I give the outside end a gentle tug, it unlatched my seat every time.

Seat release not working on 2012 RT Limited??

I had the same problem with my 2012 RT, and used the solution you mentioned. Now I have a small wire attached to my seat mechanism so I can open the seat regardless of the switch. I did the same with the frunk. Great idea, and it works! :-)

What are these Fender Lights called, and how do I replace the strip?

Got great info from you folks. Thanks very much! I'll check the sites, and do some price comparisons, and save my pennies! :-)

What are these Fender Lights called, and how do I replace the strip?

The strip of small colored lights on one of my front fenders has 3-4 burned out "bulbs" (see pic). I want to replace the entire strip, but a) don't know what this strip is called; and b) have no idea how to replace it. I've searched for the name of this light strip but can't find anything...

RT SE5 Won't Shift At All! What Is This Connector???

Thankfully, the splines inside the connector and on the shaft rod were still there. I saw the groove you mentioned, and made sure that the connector was properly seated so the through bolt tightened against that groove. Thanks for your knowledge and help!
