• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Grumbling Noise When Coming to a Stop

If this were a car or a truck, I'd say it sounds like the drive shaft u-joints had become loose, and the drive shaft was "wobbling" when not under a load. I rode it today, and came to a coasting stop several times...it made that noise every time, at around 5 MPH down to zero. Interestingly, it...

Grumbling Noise When Coming to a Stop

Nope, it handles great...no issues there.

Grumbling Noise When Coming to a Stop

The brakes are okay...the front tires are new, and I check the pressure regularly...I don't know where the front sprocket bolt it, but I'll find it, and check it for looseness. The noise only happens when I'm coming to a stop...never when accelerating or riding at speed. It sounds likes it...

Grumbling Noise When Coming to a Stop

Could be...I'll have to check that out. Thx!

Grumbling Noise When Coming to a Stop

Possibly, but it doesn't make the noise when I'm dowshifting at higher speeds, just when I'm "coasting" to a stop.

Grumbling Noise When Coming to a Stop

My 2012 RTSE5 has begun to make a thunking grumbling sound when I let it slow down to come to a stop. The running performance is absolutely fine...no issues. Shifting is fine, as are the brakes. I can't figure out what's causing that $%&! noise! I check the fluids frequently, and everything...

    Sheep skin seat cover opinions

I ride a 2012 RT with the original seat. The Spyder spends its life outside because I have no garage. The seat was ripped, torn, and looking terrible. I asked a local upholstery shop how much to re-cover the seat with "pleather" (fake leather). He quoted me $600, which I thought was...

    North Carolina Spyders

Up here in northeast NC, we don't have quite year round riding weather. :-) When it drops below freezing, there can be black ice, and a couple of times a year, we get snow. LOL

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

No problem...here it is, installed and ready to go: There are two vent holes over the black areas. They don't put any more air on the rider, but they do reduce the buffeting fro wind gusts, semis, etc.

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

Replacement Windshield I bought the ShowChrome Wide Clear SM6143 Touring model from SlingMods.com. Cost about $170 delivered. Easy to remove the old one and install the new one. :-)

    Sheep skin seat cover opinions

I got my shearling lambskin seat cover for the RT from Wildthingsfur.com... Its plush, great looking, comfortable and easy to put on and take off. If I get caught in the the rain, I can pull over, take the sheepskin off, and put it in the frunk within one minute or less. :-) It was a bit...

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

To solve the "sparkles" problem, I replaced the windshield. I got it from SlingMods.com for about $170. The windshield is a Show Chrome Wide Clear SM6143 Touring model. It was easy to remove the old and install the new! I made a "slip on cover" for it, so when its parked in the yard, I can...

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

I finally gave up trying to see through all the "sparkles", and bought a new windshield. It was incredibly easy to remove the old one, and install the new one! The new one has "vents" which don't cause any additional wind flow on the rider, but do seem to calm down the buffeting from wind...

    Sheep skin seat cover opinions

I've got a 100% real natural shearling sheepskin seat cover on my 2012 RT. It has 2 elastic things that slip on the font seat "wings", and rawhide straps that tie to the rear seat handles. I love it. No more scorching my butt when I sit on my Spyder after its been in the blazing sun for...

    Can't Open Glove Box

RESOLVED! I removed the left Tupperware, and saw the offending cable. I jiggled it around with my fingers, and the glove box now pops open with a gentle touch (like it should). I sprayed the latch with WD40. Then opened and closed the glove box a number of times to make sure it was really...

    Can't Open Glove Box

I will definitely take a look! Thanks! If I can see the cable, I can wiggle it with long nose pliers, and maybe get the glove box to pop opem. Then I'll spray the latch with silicone, and see about straightening out the cable. Again...thanks!

    Can't Open Glove Box

If I can get some schematics and see where the cable is routed, I may be able to free it up with a little gentle prying and such. Locking and unlocking the wheels has no effect on the glove box, even though it should open when the wheels are unlocked. Now to locate that pesky cable without...

    Can't Open Glove Box

The dealer said the cables had "rusted" over the years, and needed to be replaced...for $300. I declined. The frunk switch works fine, and my home-made solution to release the seat works fine also. Because I don't have a garage, the Spyder is outdoors all year. Our winters are mild...

    Can't Open Glove Box

The only Tupperware I've ever removed is the panel over the oil filler (left front). :-) I'll have to look up how to remove the other stuff you mentioned. If its too complicated, and if I can't get it done, I may just live without the use of the glove box. LOL Thanks for the suggestions!

    Can't Open Glove Box

I don't have a hair dryer, but I'll try spraying some WD-40 on the latch. It may help! If it doesn't, I may have another possible cause for the problem. When I attached a wire to the seat latch (because the key switch option did not work), it prevented that cable from sliding back and forth...
