• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Can't Open Glove Box

Took my 2012 RT-SE5 to the dealer for tires, oil change, regular annual service, etc. They said the cables to my frunk and seat release should be replaced, but I said no thanks. I open the frunk with the optional dash switch, and I have a wire rigged to open the seat release. Both work just...

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

Sounds like a great replacement! For now, I've decided to live with the sparkles on/in my windshield. I'm hoping that they haven't weakened the structure so that it implodes/explodes. :-) The sparkles are only an issue when I'm at just the right angle to the sun, and I can always lower the...

    Rattling Exhaust

Thanks! I'll try to take a look. I don't have a "lift" so getting access to the exhaust (or any connections to it) is a real challenge. If I can get access, and it turns out to be a bad gasket, that should be easy to replace. Again, thanks for the suggestion!

    Rattling Exhaust

My 2012 RT has an exhaust issue. Whenever I back off the throttle or slow down for a light, etc., the exhaust makes a rattling noise (only happens when slowing down, backing off the throttle, never when speeding up or cruising). It not a "something is loose" kind of noise, but comes from...

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

As a glasses wearer myself, I know exactly what you mean. This is the original windshield, and the Spyder is a 2012 model, so 7 years is a good long life for it. I don't know about any fancy new windshield though...I'll be satisfied with a regular OEM type of replacement. :-)

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

The sparkles only appear when the sun hits it at just the right angle. I'll have to replace it sooner or later, and I might as well start looking for one now. :-)

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

I haven't used anything but clean water and a cotton rag on the windshield. I was tempted to use Rain-X but someone said it wasn't good for the plastic, so I didn't use it. I think the sparkles are the result of age and sun.

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

Yup, its in the sun every day the sun is shining, and here in NC, we get a LOT of sunny days. :-) Time for a replacement...

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

I think you're right...its a combination of age and weather, especially the hot sun beating down on it. I only use clean water and a cotton rag (an old tee short) to clean it. The Spyder spends its life outdoors, so it goes through the heat and sun of summer as well as the cold and sun of...

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

Here in NC, we don't really have sand storms, and I don't live near the beach. But the Spyder is in the direct sunlight whenever the sun is shining, and that's a lot down here. :-) There's no pitting or anything that can be felt. I have a feeling its a combination of weather and age.

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

My 2012 RT has developed an odd situation with the windshield. When the sun hits it at a particular angle, there are a million "sparkles" throughout the whole windshield! They can't be seen if the sun isn't hitting the windshield from a specific angle, and they can't be felt at all. When I'm...

2012 RT SE5...replace, re-upholster, or customer cover for ripped seat?

I'll check out the gel pads for sure. My seat is totally comfortable now, but hey, I'm always up for an improvement. :-) Thanks!

2012 RT SE5...replace, re-upholster, or customer cover for ripped seat?

Sounds like a good idea! The covering has to be tough. and stitched with strong thread/cord/whatever. The illusion leather would be an ideal replacement, especially if it would stand up to the weather. Here in NC we don't get horrible winters, but we get plenty of summer heat, and a lot of...

2012 RT SE5...replace, re-upholster, or customer cover for ripped seat?

The standard OEM seat on my 2012 RT has developed rips and tears in several places, probably due to its age, and the fact that it lives outdoors year round. My question is whether I should replace the seat, get it re-upholstered, or find a seat cover for it? There's nothing structurally wrong...

    Crazy Fault Codes!

Insanity! I started the Spyder this morning...NO faults, NO codes! I did the 3 button check...blank screen. I took it for a 20 mile ride and everything was as fine as could be...no issues at all. Today's temp is in the low 60's so I'm wondering if the temperature could have effected the...

    2 Weeks Waiting Time!

Yup, that's the one! Been taking my bike there since I got it about 2 1/2 years ago. They do good work, no complaints, but there's a "wait" every time. LOL I don't have any other Can-Am dealers close by, so I'm stuck with the Chesapeake dealer. :-)

Yes, Spyders are a PITA to work on, especially if you don't have the know how and tech manuals. :-)

    2 Weeks Waiting Time!

Guys, I appreciate all the comments and shared experiences with the delays at the Can-Am dealer for service. For those who asked, I have no idea of what's causing the problems I'm having, so I can't order any parts in advance. Also, I rode the bike throughout the winter, so I know its not a...

    2 Weeks Waiting Time!

I called my Can-Am dealer to let him know I was bringing my bike in for some work, and asked what day next week would be best. The head service guy laughed, and said they were jammed more than ever before, and there was a TWO WEEK wait before they could even look at my bike! The two weeks...
