• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My first impressions of the 2023 Spyder RTL

Now that I have accumulated nearly 1000 miles on the Spyder, I am more comfortable on the curves than I was at 500 miles. I'm still finding the steering to be somewhat twitchy when the road is not smooth. As far as taking curves like the sports bikes can. That isn't important to me. At 78 years...

Is Plexus, the plastic cleaner/protector, available anywhere besides the manufacturer?

Are the above products used on the windshield and painted body parts?

What windshield bug cleaner do you use?

I use Turtle Wax spray, Lemon Pledge, and hydrogen peroxide for the bugs.

Has anyone modified the brake pedal to make it easier to use?

I tried the easiest (cheapest) fix for the brake pedal problem and bought a wider pedal from Big Bike Parts. I haven't ridden it very far, but from what I can tell, it's just what I needed. My big clodhopper sits very nicely on the right edge of the pedal. Thanks for all of your input on this...

    2026 model year reveal 8-17-25 6:45 PM

I am curious about a four-wheel Spyder. Since it has four wheels, I guess it couldn't be classified as a motorcycle, so would it fall under the same equipment requirements as a car or a truck? Actually, if it was set up like my Spyder, I think I'd enjoy it even more with four wheels.

Does the BRP service manual download to a Mac?

Thanks for the information. I will order one today. The reason I asked is that I was looking on the web for various service manuals for the Spyder and the ones I looked at were for Windows only.

Does the BRP service manual download to a Mac?

I can't find any information in the search function on this site, and there is no information about computer compatibility on the BRP website.

Battery/Starting slow spin - is this common & why doesn't it start like a normal motorcycle?

According to the specification sheet above, the recommended charging rate for the standard battery in the Spyder is 2 A.

Battery/Starting slow spin - is this common & why doesn't it start like a normal motorcycle?

I stand corrected. Thanks. However, I didn't assume that 100 A or even 90 A would be used to charge the battery, but I did assume that the battery would recharge faster than in 30 to 60 minutes. I don't understand why starting a well tuned engine would require enough current to require 30 to...

Are there any detailed LCD Display instructions anywhere? The manual doesn't thoroughly explain...

Thank you. I will spend some time with the statistics menu and see if I can do do what I want to do.

Are there any detailed LCD Display instructions anywhere? The manual doesn't thoroughly explain...

I am able to use the LCD display on my 2023 RTL, but only the basic functions. I can't manipulate the display to show some of the secondary functions, such as finding and resetting the trip meters. I wonder if there's a detailed explanation for all of the functions of the LCD display. The manual...

Battery/Starting slow spin - is this common & why doesn't it start like a normal motorcycle?

That is useful information. I need to buy the service manual. The alternator has a maximum output of about 100 amps. That should be sufficient to charge the battery during a fairly short ride, unless the bike draws a large amount of current. I wonder if there are any specs. for current draw for...

Battery/Starting slow spin - is this common & why doesn't it start like a normal motorcycle?

I think I saw a kit somewhere that allowed the use of either a larger capacity battery or a second battery in the Spyders. Losing space in the frunk would not be an issue for me since I don't intend to do any long distance traveling.

Has anyone modified the brake pedal to make it easier to use?

Thanks to Fire Truck and McClendons for the informative posts above. I'm going to start out with a pedal extension and then if that doesn't work out as well as I'd like, I will consider getting the handbrake. Thanks, I'll check out the rod if I find that itiis necessary. I am somewhat...

Has anyone modified the brake pedal to make it easier to use?

I've read about one of the handbrake kits and they seem to be complicated. Some people are not happy with them. And the price is beyond outrageous. However, if I have to, I will go to the handbrake. But first, I'm going to order a wide brake pedal from Show Chrome and see how it works. I could...

Has anyone modified the brake pedal to make it easier to use?

I am 6 foot four and have neuropathy with dropfoot. Getting my foot firmly and squarely on the brake pedal is difficult. I'm concerned about how fast I can stop the 2023 RTL in an emergency. I wonder if anyone has modified the brake pedal by extending it to the right. I would be interested in...

Anyone installed the Refined Cycle BPE2 brake pedal extension to reposition the pedal on an RT??

I have the same problem. I have tried braking with my heel instead of the ball of my foot, and that works well. However, in an emergency situation, I'm not sure that I would have the foresight to use my heel. Perhaps after practicing it for miles and miles I might get used to it. There is a...

Spyders are New to me, and the hitch prices have a huge variation - which way should I go? Recommend any hitches?

@OldAge, it's good to know that you are satisfied with the performance and fuel mileage of the Spyder. As I ride the back roads on the Spyder, I feel that I need to crank the throttle much more to get useable output from the engine. According to the online manual, there are supposed to be...
